update ..
well i have sort of come stuck on suitable 'on-hand' materials for the pressure vessel. Also i need some brazin' done to my barrels.

There is 2 old fire extinguishers i could use but have the same issue with both... i have no way to connect them in their current state.. e.g need to drill and tap... I could go all cowboy on it's arse and heat some air hose and force it over the neck of the extinguisher, hose clamp it on, then to a push on barb fitting to the hose thus connecting to the gun but that would look like chit and not all that trust worthy.
The one i'd prefer to use is very light aluminium 1 kg tank(2.2lb) it has a nice long Al. neck fitting which would tap a nice thread in or out... if i had taps to do them :) the female thread on the neck is 1/4 inch but is a very fine thread where all the brass fittings I have are npt 'coarse thread'. I've been scavenging all day, pulling stuff apart trying to find a fit and come up with nuts.< and they don't fit either...lol

I have seen those creations/abominations where people use soda bottles as a vessel, i could do that.. but no thanks.

OK.. the qev did do the job.. very well in fact 8) i have mucked up a rather small chitty looking vessel.. being 1 foot of air hose plugged.. LOL... hey it works until i can sort the FE neck threads out. i also need to work on some decent barrels at the moment i am running a female quick connect with the internal valve removed on the exhaust of the qev.. to this i can attach various size barrels i have mocked up for 'testing'... one barrel is telescopic radio antenna sleeved inside a male quick connect with a bit of tape wrapped around it...LOL.. the other is a short length of copper pipe 12.8mm od.. and 10.8 id which is threaded on one end 1/4npt :) fitted a male quick connect works really good with spud.

Got a 'good as could be expected' range and velocity with the chitty hose vessel, also maxed to 145psi<- as much as i can produce.. using the humble 'spud' for push the barrel in and ram muzzle load.

Well i am not really sure what they are spec'd at but i know i used to punch 250psi + through those types of quick connects when i used to work as a fettler in a foundry.
however the pressure is negated in this instance for i am only using the quick connect to disconnect & re-connect the barrel for easier, safer muzzle loading. Also i used this to test various I.D barrels to see what size was best... so far the 10mm I.D is a winner... BUT i really need a longer barrel and to sort out that abomination of an air vessel.
I need to get a little bit of bronzing on another barrel to a T piece so i can utilize that as a breech loader, the rear of the T bunged with a cap or modified fitting.
Where the barrel sits inside the 'void' of the T piece i will drill small holes so the air will pass into the barrel but small enough so the projectile will not fall through them :)
