well, It'd be better to use co2.

I had an idea, but I don't know if it will work.

somehow connect an airbrush to a co2 tank, and I'll just press the airbrush trigger 'till the tshirt is out of the barrel, then I can just stuff and press the trigger again.

Image

remember, I hardly know anything about any of this, but had that idea, I know there's a lot more to it, but that's the basic concept, I'd need a chamber though, but you should get the idea.

ok, I had another idea.

something like hi said.

strap a portable air tank on my back, and hose feed it to a ball valve, then the ball valve is directly connected to the barrel. Just a matter of opening the valve, no filling up a chamber.

yes thats right, but you cant use a ball valve. ball valves leak out a huge amout of air and they stay open until you close them.

im telling you, use a sprinkler valve, they seal up right when you release the trigger.

you cant use a ball valve because you would only get 2 or three shots if you were really fast.

A QEV is another option, a little simpler thn moding a sprinkler valve, but you have to order it.

edit- you cant use the one you drew up jello mold, it would simply explode, assuming that you could even get the co2 out. and a airbrush would get the tee-shirt maybe 5 feet, if that.

edit edit- that picture you drew, replace the airbrush with a sprinkler valve and the co2 tank with a big tank on your back and it will be perfect.

ok, well, is there ANY possible way I could get this working with a co2 tank? it'd be harder to make, but would end up saving me some time and money.

and one final check, with a sprinkler valve, how do you get the air to release? what is the mechanism that releases it? a button, trigger, lever, or something like that?

also, when looking around at some of the guns here, I came across this simple one:

now, it has a sprinkler valve on it, and I assume it's semi auto.

now if I could just modify that to sport a co2 tank and a bigger barrel... any ideas?

here is one that was on spudtech before it was closed.

for the sprinkler valve, go to the how-to data base and you will see several how-to mod sprinkler valve posts.

here is one what? the picture I posted?

anyways, what is this Palmer Regulator for a co2 thing I've read about? could it solve some problems?

and I'll just buy a pre-modded sprinkler like this one:

and then I'd need help with hooking up a co2 tank and a 2.5" or 3" barrel.

http://www.spudfiles.com/spudtech_archi ... hp?t=15884 sorry about that.

you can also use propane as a porable air source. just hook up a hourch head, a hose, and connect it to the chamber and your set. its really cheap and alot easyer and safer than co2. you dont ignite the propane, you just pressurize it and shoot it. i dont know if that practical for you or not, but it works, DR did it once, but i cant find the link for it.

the gun you came across will work with co2, but the chamber only needs to be half that size because you are using co2.

the blow gun.. you just press the blow gun and it will fire. i dont feel like explaining it, but trust me, if you buy one it will works.

for co2- i have never used it, so i may be wrong, but i think you just need a regulator and tap it into the chamber and your set. (note that i said " i think")

edit- i think the regulators have valves on them. so you just open the valve, let some in, then close it. if you use co2 you deffinatly need the regulator. might check Ebay because they are less there than in store.

very simple and clean, but is it semi? he says he disconnects it from the compressor before shots but does that mean he gets one shot out of it or multiple ones? if he can shoot multiple ones, how many do you think he'd get out of that size tank?

and Is there anyway I could hook a co2 tank into it rather than a different tank?

well, hot wired claimes to get 8 shots with his signature QEV gun, but thats at 280 psi, which isnt safe for pvc.

if you give me the link to where you got the picture i can tell you, but the answer is probably, but i still need the link.

http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=159&

that's the gun that I thought would be simple, all I'd have to do is modify it to work with a co2 tank, and a 3" barrel.

but remember, and I'm still confused as to what a sprinkler valve does, it has to get at least 5 to 10 shots off before I have to fill the tank up again.

ok, ill explain it, but you wont understand....

there is a diaphram in the valve. there is pressure (from the air) on both sides of the diaphram. there is more pressure on the top than the bottom. in the middle of the bottom there is a pipe that has no air in it, this pipe goes to the barrel. because the air pressure is greater on top, the diaphram seals against the pipe. then you open the blowgun, you are releasing the pressure on the top of the diaphram. there is now pressure on the bottom of the diaphram, (coming from the chamber) but no airpressure on the top of the diaphram. this causes the diaphram to pop up and the air from the chamber to go into the barrel. when you release the blow gun, the air returns to the top of the diaphram, which then closes it. then when you open the blowgun again the process repeats.

make sence? didnt think so....

edit, for the 3'' barrel you simply put a 3'' barrel on it. for co2 you screw the co2 rgulator onto the tank, then screw the regulator into the chamber. you have to drill a hole to screw it in.

I kinda get it, but I didn't really want an explanation, just an answer to my question.

All I want to know is:

Could I take this gun

http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=159&

and change it to have a co2 tank

a 3" barrel

and be semi automatic?

if so how?
