Sprinkler valves don't flow equal to a hole of their nominal diameter... so I expect that, especially with a light weight projectile like a paintballl, you will get better performance with the 1" valve than with the 3/4" one.

But, to be honest, I haven't modeled the situation... so you might want to check my prediction with the GGDT.

As for the barrel, I suggest 3/4", (OD), aluminum hydraulic tubing. You can buy this stuff with a .68 inside diameter.

And to add to that, a paintball is a bad projectile and no matter how much you drop on a barrel, it will still suck. I think at least.

paintballs fly very nicely when given a top-spin, however the barrles that do this cost upwards of 500 bucks..........

paintball guns are not very nice looking in my point of view. they arent very realistic (most of them, i know there are some.....), and plus you cant have the PB traveling over 300 FPS or it seriously injures you.......

thats why i airsoft........
