I could try that. But rather find something easier to do! Does something like clear hosing work just as well?

Went ahead and made a few changes including: - Cut the barrel down by half. So it's right around 12 inches now. - Made a larger chamber/ air supply. (4 inch in diameter, 14 inch in length) - Created a breech in the barrel with a dremel tool. - Tried to find/make a sleeve for the breech. So everythin...

I'm limited on tools so making a hole maybe a challenge but I'll try and find a way. And just find a sleeve that fits snuggly over the barrel and slide it over the breech hole? No o rings or anything are needed?

Thanks!

I want a cleaner look so i'll grab some PVC and throw together a 4 inch x 12 inch chamber. About 5 times the size of the 48 inch long ones. I'll chop the barrel down today and see how that works. And if a blow forward bolt isn't exactly ideal without changing too much what could I do for easier and ...

Got it right on my first guess after playing around with it for a little bit! Fired a few and had fun with it. Would load the chamber with around 60 to 80 PSI each time. Found a few leaks but took care of them right away. I have some trouble getting the female and male quick connects to lock in righ...

Just got all my parts together and I'm sorry for the double post but I have a quick question. I feel dumb for asking it but I don't want to mess it up. Which way should the slide valve be facing or which end screwed into the QEV?

Thanks guy!

I guess I did. I asked that question when I didn't have the CPVC in front of me. So it would work to use the CPVC?

The outside diameter is 5/8 inch. I bought the CPVC at Menards Hardware Store. The tube says it's 1/2 inch. SDR-11. NSFPW. 100 PSI @ 180 degrees F. 400 PSI @ 73 degrees F.

All i'm saying is the CPVC would be better but I don't believe it's pressure rated. How will I connect the slide valve to the female quick connect on my main air supply? Also for the barrel to QEV connection I was planning on using a replaceable barrel. So it'd be a 1/2 inch female to 1/2 inch male correct. Male end screws into QEV. Does the barrel need to be pressure rated? Like I...

I thought it was diameter and length you factored in? Must of mistaken what you told me! Oops.

Is this a horrible thing or will it just mean I have a lot more shots to use?

I can always cut it down and get a few more end caps.

Thanks for the input and past experience. Had some time to talk with some other spud filers today and was told to go with a 2:1 chamber to barrel ratio. I went out and made my chambers tonight. Barrel: 1/2 inch in diameter and 24 inch in length Chamber: 1 inch in diameter and 48 in length. Going off...

That's what I'm planning on doing. Using a PVC chamber instead of a soda bottle.

So two liters is around 125 cubic inches. V = 3.14*r^2*h I figured going with a 4 inch diameter and that would mean I would have to get around 10 inches to have a volume of 125 cubic inches. Does this seem right? And I had talked about a schrader fill valve for the ease of portability but if I make ...
