Well if you don't listen to us you'll probably have an extremely unreliable go kart anyways. You are far too much concerned with the engine than with the practicality of the design. This vehicle has a 3hp engine and a 20mph top speed. Notice the 1/8" square carbon steel tubing. It had 3 kill switch...

puting a role cage on it would make it more likeleay to flip. plus i would then need a full harness. you may think this is a good idear but if i did flipp it i would rather be thrown free. than straped in a mettal cage having no control. if i plann on going past 80 mph i intend on rering motorbike l...

the reason the frame is minimal is to keep it light not purleay becuse of a better ride i would go as far to say it would be almost imposible to damage the frame thro hard driving unless you acutualy crash

i would not use the term weak if made it with some heavy walled box it may be stronger but it would not flex. my last one i madeto stiff and if you hit a small bump in the road at 60mph it would bounce and somtimes make you spin out. the weakest part its from the front of the seat forwards behind al...

What sort of scale go-kart are you planning?
If it is for an offroad go-kart I would get the biggest engine you can afford.
Is the engine a 2 cylinder or a 4 pot (if you have it already)?

I'm currently making an off-road go-kart with a 124 -4 stroke and a 750cc road kart.
