Re: Arrow shooting "Steampunk" pistol
Very cool! Looks like so much fun to shoot... I never would have done what you did at the end though

Re: Bought BSPT fittings...and I live in USA?
A quick search on McMaster Carr yielded BSP pipe fittings as well as pipe nipples with BSP on one end and NPT on the other... Sounds like exactly what you need!

I would modify that sprinkler valve for pneumatic actuation. You can even use the compressor blowgun that is already on the gun for the mod. Switch it out for a 1/4" ball valve. Look up modifying a sprinkler valve or use tutorials/examples on Spudfiles! Electronic actuation of the sprinkler valve is...

Welcome to SpudFiles! I hope you have a better experience here. In my opinion we have always been very welcoming and open to helping new members get into the hobby. The trigger mech in that video appears to be homemade at first glance. Probably a push button valve of sorts. Although they are very si...

Are you filling from the pilot side or from the chamber? If from the chamber, try switching to pilot filling as this will forcefully re-seat the diaphragm each time.

JSR, you certainly had a large part in it, among others on this forum, and I'm eternally grateful for the inspiration that the members of spudfiles have given me over the years. I have no idea what I would be doing right now if I never stumbled upon this place. Spudfiles has such a wealth of knowled...

Re: The Offcial Machinist Thread: Revised 01/04/2014
So a while ago I felt like making a 4 jaw chuck... For no reason other than I thought it would be cool :) Started with 3-1/8" aluminum round, and after lots of turning and milling I've completed the body of the chuck. The jaws will be machined from 303, but I've gotten started on an aluminum version...

Re: schrader valve install
Like Matti said, check the end of the fittings on the small edge portion. It will say on there. I know a guy whose chamber blew in that pressure range because he was using DWV, so make sure it isn't. Those bell reducers aren't typically meant for pressure.

I have nothing to say about the cannonball, but the story behind how you acquired these items (and the items themselves) is remarkable! I wish I could have done something like that.

Re: schrader valve install
Easiest way is to get a threaded (1/8" or 1/4" commonly) from a hardware store, then use the proper fittings, adapters, and bushings to get down to that size from your pvc!
Also, double check your fittings are NSF-PW and not DWV, especially that big reducer.

Thanks for that! I'll have to look up a spec sheet for it an find out what cap to use. Dryer cord sounds pretty simple as well! Cheers :occasion5:

Re: Arrow shooting sniper airgun (work in progress)
Looks great so far! The wood work is very nice as always
I'm curious how well the electronic valve will function. For such a small caliber it will probably be fine, especially since the valve appears to be and indirect acting diaphragm valve... Looking forward to seeing this one fire
