Re: First spudgun using lots of paintball parts
Then I checked it and discovered that it was over 300psi going into my tank You're very lucky sir! About what you said about the pipe having to hold the most pressure... each part is exposed to equal pressure. Always remember your gun is only as strong as its weakest part. You have done the right t...

Re: Cheap compressor solution
I have maxed my fridgy out twice I think, and it simply stalled. It will not start again until the pressure on the output side is relieved. It still runs fine to this day. Perhaps some compressors behave differently under too high of pressure. Maybe mine survived because it reached such high pressur...

Re: Is spudding dead?
Another thing I think is contributing to the lack of posts is that a lot of my generation has gone on to college and other things that take priority over spudding. I'm home for the summer now so I'm back to plinking again. But a lot of us younger guys are nowhere to be found anymore... Also like wha...

Re: "In the world of spuds today"
I haven't actually seen that one before. Not sure what I was thinking of, but it's okay. I'm doing a research project on piston valves so I was just trying to find the OG piston valve. I can do without that bit of info though! Thanks guys.

Re: "In the world of spuds today"
Wasn't it the mythical "supah valve" ? In any case the exhaust valve concept has been around for much longer. Hmmm, didn't think the supah valve was the first one. I figured this type of valve had been around for very long (similar patents are around from the mid 1900s) but I was more aiming for th...

Re: "In the world of spuds today"
Hey y'all, quick question... I'm trying to do a research paper on piston valves, so I am looking for the first one ever made on the forums. Anybody know who was the first? I seem to recall is was clide on spudtech but I can't find anything about it... any help would be appreciated!

Once a Spudder, Always a Spudder
Hey y'all, been a while since my last venture to the Files! I'm now in my freshman year of college at the University of Florida (GO GATORS!) studying mechanical engineering. Did you expect anything else? :D Bet you also didn't expect me to join a fraternity Anyway, I may not have been around in a wh...

Re: Commercial T-shirt Gun
Most facts on internet forums are wrong, including this one. I think the facts on this forum tend to be a little more trustworthy than elsewhere on the interwebs... Probably because the heart of the community is people with very extensive knowledge and experience. Then the newbies come along and le...

Re: Discharging an old oxy cylinder
Thanks Crowley, I think I'll take it over to the lake and let her rip. Slowly of course. I don't think it's been stamped in at least 20 years, so the workshop thing ain't really an option. I re-checked and its originally stamped March '44, so I think it was used in the war. Came with a breathing mas...

A lit cigarette set the oxy stream ablaze, or the oxy stream set an unlit cigarette ablaze?Zeus wrote:For those interested I have put a cigarette in an oxygen stream, and naturally it caught fire.

Discharging an old oxy cylinder
A while back I acquired a ~1 liter oxygen tank originally stamped with the year 1960 IIRC. It came with a gauge and regulator, and when I cracked the valve a little, the gauge read 1,500 psi. It's now been in my room for some months and I want to discharge it just for peace of mind and because I mig...
