Yes, those are in fact too small, but If you're only operating at 80 to 100 PSI, the PVC will do just fine, but If you like the aluminum pipe more, go ahead! also, airsoft BB's don't require THAT much PSI in a game, unless you're using a BBMG.. Hope I helped! Thanks heaps for that, I deterred from ...

Help with construction/materials of a firing chamber?

I'm in the process of building my first pneumatic, and I'm not too sure what to use for the firing chamber (using a qev piloted by a slide, fire extinguisher as the main tank) Would these be too small? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290614824486&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:AU:1123 (...

That's what I thought when I looked at those qevs, but i found ones rated at 90 (see posted above).

Not sure about the slide however.

My parts came in the other week...I can't wait to assemble it. :) I got 5 slides for around 35 AUSD, and I've got most of my other parts waiting for assembly. It's basically just going to the local plumbing store and getting all the fittings :D fyi, links to my qev and slide; http://www.ebay.com.au/...

Question: Is it possible to set up the system as shown? By this I mean look at the placement of the schrader valves (this just makes the construction process slightly easier, whereas if not possible, i'll just use a 4way junction between the slide and air tank.)[/img][/b]

Hit the local fire extinguisher service place. You can often get obsolete tanks for free or at scrap metal prices. thanks for that, I'll be sure to check out the nearest shop. You'll lose about 3-4 psi per shot, so after 15 shots or so the tank will be down to 50 psi, good enough for decent power b...

fair enough, minimum-distance 'rules' would have to be in place. Hard to follow in the "heat of battle" ;) I suggest tests against layered cardboard box'o'truth style before even attempting to fire at a sentient target. edit: 17,000+ posts  of course. how many shots do you think i would get o...

good god that deals some damage. i saw the video coupled with that car door dent but I wasn't sure what psi he had it at. i think splatballs are the go here. (BBs will be far too cumbersome to load bolt action style imo) if they break on firing process i'll have to wad the chamber somehow. At what v...

On the odd occasion, random things in the distance. But mainly...people. From as far as possible using 90-100 psi (i have a portable air compressor that hooks up to my car that maxes out at this) I wonder if these would break in the barrel? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SupaSplat-Paint-Splat-Ball-Refil...

removes the 'shove anything down the barrel' novelty of a larger barrel :P

plus might aswell just buy an airsoft rifle.

I'm aware of the stupidity of the quote when extracted from the whole post; however, I'm trying to achieve decent velocity and displacement. What I meant by that was, is there 'softer' ammunition that still travels a significant range? At what velocity does it start to become unbearable - pain wise?...

[Question] How far would a marshmallow go..?

Say at...90-110 psi? Or would it be better to fit a different sized barrel and use a smaller/more dense material for ammunition. Keep in mind that using marshmallows was initially used so on contact with human skin (covered by a jumper) it would sting, but not cause serious injury. (from a distance,...
