Hey,

So I was wondering if it would be safe to solder a 1/4" male bsp fitting into a a 1/2" copper elbow. This section of my cannon is the firing chamber and I hope to have it running at around 200psi

Thanks in advance
-Paul :)

Re: Official Drawing, Doodles and Art Thread.

"To get the ball rolling here is something I quickly whipped up!" Where's something you whipped up? Not a good way to start a "official" thread, I might have to remove the "official" title... Haha, well there it is :) Sorry about that! EDIT: Also I will be willing to do requests, so feel free to ma...

Hey Guys, I noticed a thread like this was missing here at spudfiles, and you all seem to have so much drawing skills. The purpose of this thread is to showcase ANY drawings you have drawn, have them critiqued and applauded! So please submit your drawings and share the creativity! To get the ball ro...

Here's a crude representation of what you want, as the blue component moves in line with the barrel, it touches the bolt and the "ramp" turns the linear motion into rotary motion. You can cut this ramp from a larger diameter pipe sleeve. Needless to say the bolt would require a return spring of som...

If you are making a copper cannon, there are even ready-made sleeves available in the form of repair couplings. Any plumbing supply store should have them for all sizes of copper pipe, and some of the big-box hardware stores have them for 1/2" and 3/4". Oh thanks, is this applicable in Australia? O...

Assuming the sleeve is a good tight fit, I would say o-rings are not necessary - you might lose a couple of fps but nothing you would notice without a chrony.
Lovley, I want to say thanks again JSR, you have been a massive help!! :)

Wow, simplicity is beautiful isn't it? That rendering is quite handsome, would you not agree ;) I like the idea of having just a rotating breech load, but I have some queries: 1. Would I need to make use of O rings? and if so would the rotation become difficult and less ergonomic? 2. Would it leak/c...

What I was going for here is to have three pieces of copper or brass tubing the middle being...
