If you can remove it with steel wool, its most likely insignificant. Like another poster said, it would need to be deliberately abused for an extended period of time to be weakened significantly for spudgun activities.

If you have a lathe, you could probably bore it out pretty easily...I have a few extra 1/2" copper tees on hand, so once I get my lathe setup again (removed parts for maintenance) I'll give it a shot.

A large (looks like 3/4") ball valve for piloting, and a smaller (maybe 1/2" or so) ball valve for preventing the cannon from firing when the female QD is disconnected from the male QD on the cannon.

I find it interesting, JSR, that the one who always suggests that people with large guns are "compensating" has just purchased a larger car...

Paintballs will weigh less than clay. However, I don't think weight is the only thing affecting how well the projectile flies.

Apparently spherical chambers resist detonation better (claim is made here), and the stubby nature of this chamber is certainly more spherical than most other hybrid chambers.

Bumping the screw count to eight on each plug is a good idea; the wood will not do too much in terms of blocking the pressure, but the wood with a bunch of screws certainly will do a better job.

I am pretty sure the paintball industry uses 0.68" ID 0.75" OD aluminum hydraulic tubing. You can buy 6' off McMaster.com for like $15 (part #89965K62). I use this tubing on my paintball guns, and I think it works great.

DWV does not worry me nearly as much as the fact that the pipe is cellular core. Cellular core is essentially plastic foam, and it has a VERY high chance of rupturing, ESPECIALLY when used in a pneumatic. Please, for your own safety, DO NOT FIRE THAT CANNON AGAIN. Spending more money for a safe crea...

Yes...just take a 1/2" coupler, bore out the stop, and add some type of material to make it seal up better.
