I've been out of the game a while and never exactly, well, cared to even look into hammer valves. I've always been the bolt action sort of guy, just wanting maximum performance per round, not just spraying ammo.

Definitely get a longer barrel. You're not getting the potential out of that large volume of air in your chamber. Do you have a spring in the valve? How big is your equilization hole thing in the valve? A little larger hole can make it seal faster, which could be an issue with that big of a tank. An...

You could always find an old CO2/nitrous tank or something and build a hybrid. Or use CO2 as a propellant. With a higher pressure you could use a smaller valve and still get the same amount of gas flowing to propel the "potato". PVC is just ungodly expensive when you get to dealing with larger stuff...

hammer valves seem like kind of a bad idea, but they seem to work find in paintball guns. The high pressure would help force the striker back to the cocked position and then the spring would have enough force to smack the pin and open the valve. You could probably make something that would work usin...

I have used a couple tubes of epoxy meant for use on plastics that just never set up. I mixed it in the correct ratio and mixed it very well, but it never hardened even the least bit.

My work bench is in need of some new legs and supports. But it has like 1inch thick plywood. That doesn't do much good when it wobbles side to side and buckles though.

A nice bolt action for a gun would be cool. One that doesn't look jerry rigged.

Rimfire cartidges are a design failure in my opinion. They don't burn that cleanly, duds are more common than with centerfire ammo, you can't reload them (with 22lr and such, it's not a cost stand point, but rather a matter of tailoring a round to your gun), the flame from the primer just start at t...

There are other videos, and they make other things glow. I'd like to test a few possibilities, like just the baking soda and peroxide together. Different weak acids in place of the Dew...

What about instead of shooting a round that will burst and spray the pellets, just make it more like a shotgun in the first place? maybe have film cans that had the bottoms cut in an x shape, and a paper cap. Just drop them in, fire, and the can would come out. Then replace with another cartridge. M...

but it's still releasing it into the ecosystem. and if someone goes rummaging, they may get hurt. I don't like the idea. Make ice blocks or something, I don't know. Just shoot stuff that won't risk injuring others or polluting the environment.

There is really no advantage to using acetylene in a spud gun. The energy content of acetylene is really not significantly different than propane or butane, roughly 15% more energy in acetylene. See the spudwiki page on fuels or the acetylene page . Acetylene has several problems that make it uniqu...

Althought I don't own a 69 C-10, I have a little advice. First, do you have room under the bed? Maybe another model would have a tank that fits there, and all you would have to do would be mounting it and doing a little sheet metal work. Of course, theres the possibility of having to fabricate new b...

Maybe your rings are messed up? I used Simmons rings on my Tasco scope. They aren't very expensive, just like $7 at Walmart. BSA scopes stink, from my experience. I had an adjustable one on a pellet rifle, and it wouldn't ever stay consistant. I put a Tasco on, and now I'm shooting pennies at about ...
