Alternatively. You simply don't exhaust the full capacity of the chamber when you fire. I mean this whole thing is about "squeezing the last bit of air out" by adding more weight in various ways to do so. So think of the volume of air you want expelled as one thing. Now consider the (still compresse...

The primary reason the Brits clung to rifled barrels longer than anyone else is their love of High Explosive Squash Head rounds, however most modern tanks incorporate spaced armour which effectively nullifies most of the effects of these rounds making them much less relevant on the battlefield. Tha...

I'm also interested in the type of rifling, from the video it seems to suggest that it's a Whitworth type as opposed to lands and grooves. No way... you can't use APFSDS ammo with a rifled barrel... :-D The challenger 2 has a rifled barrel and does exactly that. Uses bearings to minimise spin on th...

Anyone else taking note of the Luftminenwerfer using one tube and no chamber (as such)? Requires fair bit of work for each projectile when you have them participating in the mechanism but since shells have to be manufactured anyway I doubt it was much of a problem. I still say a hollow projectile > ...

It would be a hinged claw that held the flared end of the pin then opened when the firing knob was pulled back. At a guess, imagine a clothes peg. The jaws will not open if you block the opening levers from closing. Remove the block and the jaws will open. The screw part at the rear I imagine would ...

I think hotwired originally came up with the idea and made a diagram, but I just cannot find it. I've tried it before with a QEV, but I didn't have a constant air source, so I just got progressively weaker shots actually it was ragnarok... though I think that PVC_ARSENAL or btrettel built the first...

Ah, didn't thought about that, but that would involving modifications on the factory made QEVs. BTW BTB have you ever watched my videos? I started using the flow-blocking plug on my blowgun pilots almost 2 years ago, also I believe I was the firsy one to achieve that, with my first semi-auto. Over ...

so if i put them in series would the capacitance be to low at 0.05? You should put them in parallel. Why? Your SIDAC is rated for 240V, having a capacitor bank which can get to 500V is worthless if the SIDAC will discharge it whenever it reaches 240V. Capacitance is not the issue really, you are lo...

With two of those in series you have a capacitor bank which is 0.05uf at 500V. In parallel those two would be 0.2uf at 250V. In short, capacitors in series lowers the overall capacitance but increases voltage rating. In parallel it increases capacitance but the voltage stays the same. The energy is ...

i also hit up radio shack and got some 500v 0.0047uf capacitors to replace the ones in the circuit. but there really small. did i fork up and get ones that wont work. i know Zeus said 0.1 to 0.47 but i didn't notice the extra zeros in mine till i got home. are they too small or will they give me a ...
