that would not happen as for the potato to travel that fast it would have enough kinetic energy to have infinite mass causing it to pull the universe into a giant black hole behind it!!!!

or if you used a large enough tesla coil with a sharp point at the back of the chamber you could cause enough plasma and electric wind to force a projectile out of the barrel.

a flyback is a tesla coil. or at least you can make it work as one it doesn't have to. but a tesla coild would use a single lead and create quite a large arc which would definately ignite the mix every time

actually they were used to stop the points from making excess electromagnetic radiation because it interferes with the radio

i was saying that the diagram may not be accurate and so if he wired the cap or coil to the NC contact the thing would be on permanently unless you turned the relay on. so if it doesn't work that way then change the contact

the modern things have even scrapped the magnetic trigger and use a coil on each spark plug and trigger them all electronically!!

rechargeable 9 volt batteries are capable of about 7.5v under load. its cause the reaction for the rechargeable battery produces 1.2 volts instead of 1.5!

that should be right.
if that doesnt work the coil could be connected to pin 4

no
the battery and switch must go to 13 and 14 cause those are the switching coil!!
the capacitor and coil can be wired like that though

OK I've seen the link. but it is rather hard to explain. on your diagram you want to use pin 9 or pin 12 for the one connection and then probably pin 5 or pin 8 for the other.
