To me, a magneto sounds like a rediculous and impractical way to ignite a gun. For a beginner, I would recommend a BBQ sparker, or perhaps duel BBQ ignition with a pullback system. to me, using pvc to launch golfballs, taters, and tennis balls is fairly impractical and a little ridiculous in itself...
