Re: Short question topic

Thank you but you got me even more confused :D Perhaps I have grasped the concept of your second post below, ditching the adjustable exhaust volume, which I don't comprehend anyway, as I cannot explain power and exhaust volume correlation, ie low volume - more power From what I understand I got a no...

Re: Short question topic

Hello, after playing a bit with my primitive QEV & slide valve rifle I wanted to build something nicer. I browsed a bit for ideas, read about those nice trigger 3 way 2 position valves, ordered one, it arrived. Inspiration has been this project: http://www.spudfiles.com/pneumatic-cannons/topic26765....

Re: My QEV+Slide Valve multishots

Your builds have been an inspiration to improve, could you share the spring loaded trigger mechanism?

Re: QEV and building up

Many thanks for your replies, I dearly appreciate them. I am drawing up a final schematic based on the AIR-T/RES-SLIDE-QEV/CHAMB setup, which will look both visually pleasing and incude triggering. Would you know if it would be better to use compression or extension springs on the slide valve for fa...

Re: QEV and building up

Hello, I have made a working prototype, it was put together, painted and dry fired. I cannot get it on my 240psi pump https://www.amazon.co.uk/Airace-Infinity-Steel-Track-Pump-x/dp/B003SWZJOE to go over 140psi. Could I buy something to install on the pump to increase pressure without needing a heavi...

Re: QEV and building up

The items from China arrived! Missing two plumbing parts currently, but I can source then locally. Most difficult was finding a shop with jointless pipes and turning threads. http://i.imgur.com/QtBQVad.jpg I have some trouble understanding pumps. My approach is to first find a pump and then install ...

Re: QEV and building up

Thanks for the responses! I was looking at a tee with schrader valve and blowgun/ball valve, but 3 way valves entice me. I cannot fully understand them. Many thanks Ian for letting me know about UK distributors, I messaged both and awaiting for a quote. I can have parcels forwarded to me from the UK...

QEV and building up

Hello, I'd like to build a pneumatic gun. It will be single shot, a strong bike pump and perhaps a PCP pump later on. As I do not have access to many tools as others on here, by researching I found that a QEV would work best as my main valve. Going by projectile measurements, I'll be using a 3/8'' p...

Hello, I was wondering whether you can achieve a high voltage difference (excuse my words, I'm aware of the terminology in English) between two poles with a dynamo.

Indeed it will be made of copper, I wil have to check the availability of the sizes I am looking for... (plans are a bit crude indeed :P )
now fitted with a 5cm fan, total chamber volume is 3 times the barrel plus the approximate fan's volume.

Thanks for the replies, I appreciate them. I thought of making a pneumatic gun instead, but we have no clue where do get the equipment needed (talking about a minor town in the english countryside). The plan is coming to life slowly now that I see a fan should (or must) be included. Still things are...

New to spud guns - a few questions

First, hello everyone, this is my 1st post here :) Me and a friend had the idea to build a potato gun, so I did some research on it but still there are a few questions I got... Since size matters, having a huge potato gun isn't really of our liking, we'd prefer to make a mini gun. From what I've see...
