lubricating

I read lubricating ball valves will damage seals, will silicone lubricant work? If not, what else can i use? How do you apply it?

two things: If your using sodium hydroxide, dont use glass. It reacts with glass to form sodium silicate, slowely, but it still does. I was luckey enough to find crystal drain cleaner (100% sodium hydroxide) at Lowes. Dont use galvanized steel, that has zinc, and NaOH reacts with it to form hydrogen...

I dont think this is suprising. Its like the classic science expierement. Try to ignite cornstarch, then blow it through a paper tube over an open flame.

What windings did you find work best? My current one has 4 layers of about 20 coils each( which by the way shoots through two pieces of paper at 23J :shock: )

i dont quite get this, i thought fuel cells take hydrogen and produce water and electricity. How does this produce gas? And yes, that high current with totally kill it. dual chamber

Is there any thing particularaly wrong about using a dual chamber for pneumatic? Both chambers are metal and im using the gun at about 50 PSI (Bike pump).

I cant get them welded for 2 reasons : i dont have welder and they need to be insulated, otherwise short circuit. I was desperate, so i used legos to seperate the plates and rubberbanded it together =)

For a science fair, i need to make an electrolysis cell. Soudium hydroxide is the electrolyte, and i have 4 galv. steel plates. To make the plates stay together I tried magnets with insulation (oxidized), Hotglue (dissolved), Tape ( softens), Legos, and many other things. I was wondering if hardware...
