Tippmann's biggest mistake with the Flatline is that they advertised it for an increase in distance. While the backspin does make the round fly further, it suffers in the velocity range at those greater distances. And because of this hyped up advertisement by Tippmann, they kind of left out the bad ...

I've shot a flatline for years. It has a learning curve (no pun intended). As far as shooting different angles, yes it will. But if you're looking just to shoot angles, go with the APEX (which has a lesser learning curve).

And that's usually how it goes. Simplicity makes for the most effectiveness.

And my thoughts on the design:

Not one mention on GGDT? Every pneumatic launcher is going to have it's preferred ratio. For example, if you put a 2 kg projectile in a launcher, fill its 5 ml chamber up to 1000 psi, it's probably not going to do much. Likewise, if you place the projectile into a 50,000 ml chamber and fill it up to...

OR, you could learn as much as you can about fueling a launcher with propane and explain to your parents about how it will not fire if it has too much fuel and about how it's no more dangerous (and sometimes even safer) than using hairspray etc...

The problem you are faced with, as Tech explained, is that the mass of the projectile being dropped into the barrel is going to have to gain enough momentum to overcome the pressure being applied to the piston. In your concept, there is not going to be a pilot and the projectile will have to push ag...

You can successfully modify the valve but have no idea on how to place it on a cannon? The PDF booklet in the link I provided will answer just about any question you could come up with concerning these valves. So can the wiki and the search feature of this site...

In my days of working in hardware, I've learned that there are two types of brass tees (female threaded): One is very much like iron pipe while the other seems like it would belong in Boxhead. Which of the two are you referring to? http://www.plumbingsupply.com/images/brass-fitting-tee.jpg http://ec...

"Not all barrels are created equally"

With that said, perhaps you should tell us what size and type barrels these wads fit in. Also, are these wads reusable? Do you have to clean them up before using them? Why not just use the entire thing as one piece of ammo?

For starters, check out the link below. In it is a video I put together of how a sprinkler valve works when being used in this manner. It should clear up the questions you have on how they function. http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/the-sprinkler-valve-pdf-file-t16786.html On most of the valves I've m...

Fantastic how-to. Even through the simplicity of such a build, the how-to leaves no questions at the end. Others should take an example.
