Does the no hard tips rule mean no stefans? because stefans are the only Nerf darts I use. other ones are too expensive and not accurate enough.

Very Very Cool. All I can say is that your capacitor bank scares me... I hate to say it but its true. Clean that up a little bit, put heat-shrink over all open connections, ect. ect. I wouldn't use this as a main valve either, but more to pilot a piston valve. It has always been my overwhelming desi...

ah, I have seen these. I think they would spin a little bit due to the angled "fins" on the back of the foster tail, but I dont think its going to help much with your accuracy. I saw a demonstration of these and saw that they are actually more accurate than I thought. Think a High-end air-soft snipe...

Sorry to double-post, But I thought I should say that I have successfully fixed my shock pump using Gippeto's Method. I might actually make a how-to, as my design works beautifully...

regardless, thank you all for your help. Expect a nice new, shiny High-pressure cannon out of me soon :-D

Funny.... I just drew up something similar to pilot my .177 stick gun.... mine is a bit more complex, however. I might steal your idea :D

Good idea to construct it on a board first. Helps you design your complex mechanisms without worrying about where to put stuff at that moment....

You could always get a Diesel.... a Friend of mine gets about 45 MPG on his way to school.... tank of Diesel lasts him weeks, if not months. Regardless, I love having my engine do lots of work. The idea of large acceleration, the roar, I love it. And I deal with it by paying a little more for gas......

I am an Avid nerf modder....

Honestly, I was part of one of those forums, and I became a "senior member" within a day. everyone was wowed when I molded epoxy.....

Just post your finished concepts and dont even participate in any discussions. Maybe you can teach some people things.

You have turned a modded QEv into a robust checkvalve. I have thought about this, and the only problem I see is the evil dead space issue. you do have another point though... A piston valve is basically a check valve, with minor changes. Knowing this, I can presumably just build a piston cannon tha...

Gippetto, I looked over your tutorial once again and I think I may attempt this. It seems to be that I could easily build this into my setup without much trouble AND not worry about catastrophic failure.

hrmm... you guys have given me a few good ideas. I will try them when I have time. @Gippeto: my check valve setup looks exactly like the bottom right valve in the link you posted. almost exactly. and for some reason It doesn't work... @Jsr: Last time I tried a schrader the cracking pressure was far ...

Extreme Shock pump problems

well, in my re-discovery of spudgunning I have decided to fix my shock pump so that it actually works. Problem is, I have tried 100's of ways to make a check valve work. and for some reason I just cant do it. I assume that basically, I want to seal off the bottom of the pump tube, and have a rubber ...

I must say, This is possibly one of the best-executed design solutions I have seen. It looks normal. It works like a champion. As for a better laser, I highly recommend a green laser pointer who's purpose is gun sighting. they have built in windage/elevation that will make tuning a breeze. Also, the...

is the propane volume chamber a coleman propane cylinder or a homeade device?

Regardless, it really makes no difference. People on this site have mounted them in almost every way possible.

If you do get that, I must warn you its not going to be terribly portable. one must run that from a car battery, and it will drain your car battery so fast you need to run your car while filling it. Even with a 24ah 12 volt battery I only got about 2 fills for my mini cannon..... Aka.... Its probabl...
