Cheers for the encouragement guys! A lot of you will probably be most dissappointed to hear this, but i've been only been running it at 100psi! I made a MONUMENTAL boo-boo during construction by spinning up a lovely little brass 'cap' to go on the end of the 3/4" tube to ensure a perfect seali...

Hi guys, I worked at a place that welded polyethylene pipework together and I can tell you that you CAN connect a series of fittings to a pressure washer and use it to pressurise a vessel. (In this case for pressure testing) We were trying to minimise the air in the whole shebang so that if it went,...

Good job using a wood lathe to turn your piston. Looks like you put some thought into it. Gippeto, I must give credit where it it due, the piston was modelled off your 'protruding' past the bearing surface piston from your copper gun, the only thing I could do to make it different was 'skeletonise'...

.700 Desert Storm

Hi Guys! (And girls?) Okay, I've been holding out on you, I've been working on this new project for a few weeks now and really wanted to wait 'til it was complete with a stock and a paintjob and everything before I posted it but I got it running yesterday and broke the stock in half today and well.....

For an alternate insulated grommet (is that the right word?) go to your nearest tyre sales and repair shop, and ask for a rubber tyre valve for a tubeless wheel. Measure the bit that will end up in the hole, and drill the hole 3-4mm undersize. (Clean up the burrs) Unscrew the valve assembly, whack y...

Hang on! It IS a trick question! It was a few years ago now but the biggest problem I had with BBQ grill igniters was that they require the thing that they're screwed through to conduct part of the circuit. (As per what a cast iron or steel BBQ would do.) Just drill and tap the fibre reinforced plas...

G'day! I just had a look and after a bit of googling found a picture of a shell for the thing to see if it had a rim on it, http://www.kbptula.ru/eng/str/grenades/gm94.htm I havn't pulled a pump action down but I imagine it might be similar to a lever action in that the shell is captured by the rim ...

Slight deviation here, but still on the 'questions from new cannon builder' general theme... What is the generally accepted 'Best' valve type for a 3000psi air cannon? I've heard the term "hammer valve" and searched for it here, and even googled it with very little success. I found a great site that...

Hey Jook! Yep they fly straight as a die! And hit like the proverbial hammer of thor! I disassembled it the first time but couldn't find anything in there, just heard a "schnook" as it clicked back into place b4 I got it apart, now I put my thumb over the barrel, pump it up a bit and let go my thumb...

Cheers for the link! I'll try again! Here is the latest creation... For the small barrel, The projectiles are 1.5" hex head bolts screwed and glued into the little plastic skirts that I found in a hardware store that apparently can also be used to bolt toilets down, go figure! The holes were made in...
