That plan posted or something similar will hold thousands of pounds of psi. As long as the ball bearing is large enough so there is no way it can pop out the inlet hole it's not going anywhere. It's just like the system used for a beer keg or fountain drinks in restaurants. The best thing to house t...

Interested or enjoyment? If someone actually "enjoys" looking at stuff like that I'm going to have to say that they are a few o-rings short of airtight.

How are you guys not getting that the L shaped piece with the spring SEPARATE from the rest of the gun is the piece he is talking about?
I agree that it fits where is mentioned above.

I think the word you are looking for is "optimum". It's not going to do much good if there is so much friction that the projectile can't even be moved by the air. In any event this idea seems so basic and common sense that it hardly bears mentioning.

The pedal pulls the against the resistance of the pole and then the pedal is released and the pole pulls back up. The spindle(or material being worked) obviously reverses direction on the up and downstroke. It doesn't have to spin continuously in one direction. As long as it isn't spinning only part...

Mount a spring pole to power it. The old chair builders used to lathe all the wooden chair legs right in the woods using a sapling to power a lathe.
It works just like a bow drill.

There is something to be said for the following measurements; a lot, about this big, too much, a pinch, a dash, as far as the eye can see... etc.

I think you're missing the point of efficiency. A loud blast produced mainly by air exiting after the projectile is gone does nothing for velocity. Remember the rule for actual piston movement for optimal efficiency. The blast was just the chamber. No barrel, no projectile. I listened to the chambe...

I think it matters more if the projectile is gone rather than the valve remaining open. Optimum length of barrel is more important than valve open time.

I would put a "hammer" around the barrel that slides forward against a spring and when triggered slides backwards and strikes a collar on the barrel. Very much like a Condor style hammer but without the complexity of a breech. You would need to build a bit more structure around the barrel to support...
