if you got access to a electrical flyswatter you could allways try out a flyswatter-igniter =p

I prefer the lateran spark lighters. They are very hot and very reliable. I have seen the electric igniters in action and I was never impressed.(In other words, they suck.) For your combustion chamber, I would say that it should not be more than two feet long. I have noticed that the more compact chambers work better. :D

with "electrical igniter" i hope you are talking about BBQ-igniters and such?

because the flyswatter and stunguns are extremly reliable!
in my opinion a LOT more reliable then lantern igniters (im not saying lantern igniters are sucky. They are great, but there are better options)

Yeah, I was talking about BBQ Lighters, but that is the only kind of electric lighter I have seen in action. I like the big flaming sparks the lighters give off, so it may be awhile before I upgrade.

Hi,

I'm in Europe too...

I found nice piezo igniters in the "BP gas store" (where they had everything running on bottled gas, and spare parts for it). I also found a lousy one in a department store at the beginning of the BBQ season, and later again a really good one off a gas grill that someone had left at the roadside for junk collection.

I guess most West European countries have this place in every city/town/municipality where you can dispose of furniture, electronics, lawnmowers and bicycles etc. Go there and see if you can rip one off a BBQ. Or two, in case the first doesn´t work.

Regards
Soren

you could use a neon transformer, like the ones for shop signs. Here is the link: http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/novelty ... 12405.html
