missiles?

Unread postAuthor: feral_patriot » Thu Feb 28, 2008 5:03 am

In the past I've shot off twenty oz bottles of dry ice/H20 for fun...pretty damn dangerous, but LOTS of fun! - clamp your canon down and use a long line to trigger it, after some trial runs without trying to launch anything... ya gotta figure out how long it takes to expand vs hang time; unless of course we're shooting off over the lake.
Anyhow, my 18 yr old showed me this you tube site where he showed me some 'Diet Coke and Mentos' videos...you know what went through my mind... which, as he divulged, was why he showed me the site.
Talk about a kick in the butt! :D 8)
This is on par with glow in the dark produce, hardboiled and raw eggs, used diapers, bundles of firecrackers w/ canon fuse attached, paintball showers for the neighborhood hoods, lubed barrels with filled balloons, dog crap, hotdogs and corndogs w/out the sticks, a dead fish found on the river bank, a used female "plug"...yea, you know... :pukeleft: , rotten, slimy, fruit and veggies, etc.
any ways, we tried the diet coke/mentos act, loved it! Anybody else?

If it will fit in the barrel, then someone's fired it - it's a bit like rule #34 :D

Yes, Hubb017, I have shot a potato: I've shot potato's(big russets) with real bullets & shot, I've even launched giant, and I mean GIANT Russet potato's from a combustion canon that has a 19 1/4" x 27' chamber, using regulated mapp gas (potato went through two sheets of 3/4" subflooring stood on edge, glued &screwed together, and placed/ attached to a stnd that was 5 1/2" from our back fence), 75 -80 feet from our back door(depends on if you want to say where we stood or where the spud was in the canon) said spuds went through the osb subflooring, kept going, through the 5/8" cedar fence that was only about 3 years old then, and we never did find any substantial carcass to speak of.
Yeah, I've shot spud's, soft and hard and frozen hard...in fact, we were gonna replace the old back door to the garage w/ a more modern steel door, so-oh-oh-oh, you know what we did with the frozen spud...that one is on an aging video tape! Good thing nobody was standing outside by that old mortise and tenon raised-panel door! There's something to be said for living next door to the state famous for potato's!

And, you freaks, thanks for the "heads-up" that I need to be aware of you perv's who like to twist peoples words around...no, my 18 yr old didn't turn me on, but your grandma does...wanna watch?
Yeah, if it'll fit in a barrel... large oranges and grapefruit, down range, high...
So nobody else has dojne the coke/mentos shot, huh?
Is there an archive thread list about all the things ever fired? Or should we comprise an up to date one that we can just add everybody's onto?
When you're feeling down, go have a blast. When you're happy, go have a blast. When it's lightning and thunder, and really stormy, share a blast with the neighbor(s)-hood :D

It looks like it would kinda break in two if you hit mashed potatoes.

EDIT: Yes, I have tried it and couldn't get it to work.
