Technically it was the 5th and we have nothing to do with 4th of July but I had a bunch of crappy small fireworks from a few years back that needed wasting...we got a few good fireballs from the aerosol cans too.

I respect your abilities as a spud gun builder and as a moderator... but you and your buddies are INSANE if you blew aerosol cans without a BLAST SHIELD.

Don't worry it's safe. They don't shrapnel and we were a good 15m away from the fireballs. Also the cans were contained so they couldn't fly away and possibly hit us.

Looking down the barrel of a spudgun while it's getting pressurized isn't exactly safe either

Exploding aerosol cans aren't really anything to worry about in most cases. Just good clean, safe fun. We taped a few small butane cylinders to a sparkler flare on July 1st, but they don't make the same noise they do when they're burst by internal pressure.

I never got my beer keg into 10 foot X 4" inch rigid pipe combustion finished in time.
But I shot my friend's .380 walther ppk clone a bunch of times. 8)
It was really cool.
Usually when I think of the .380 round, I figure,Why bother, it could be 9mm (and better).
But now I really love that "belly gun".
His nieghbors were lighting bombs or something, so I broke that out, and gave a blast sounding like a mix between POP and BEWDJ!!! (Like this: POP,BEWJ!PAH,BEWJ!!!PAH,BEWJ!!!) And they quit lighting whatever it was.
I used to love 9mm because I can shoot it about 3-4 times before my ears bug me.
But that little .380 is cool!!!
Since I haven't shot much since I've been back into spudding, I was Like "Oh, the possibilities.
Man, Spudding is great mind exercise! :) 8)
BTW, Now I want a .380 "belly gun" too!!! 8)

piezo ignitor+30 feet of speaker wire+can of starter fluid(94%ether)=instant flash fire for a 20+foot radius.... I lost my eyebrows... would I do it again.... of course, with more wire...

.... Are you implying that you don't wear hearing protection!?! Dude, .380 auto or not, you shouldn't forgo hearing protection over anything louder than a .22 LR or a suppressed 5.56 or .223 rem. And they are still fairly hard on the ears.

Besides, the 1911 owns the PPK any day of the week. (And no, it's not a Colt .45. Calling the 1911 a Colt .45 is a misnomer, reffering to the Colt Peacemaker.)

Yes, I was refering to shooting without ear protection. Fun and sometimes almost necessary unless you have the expensive electronic earplugs.
(Good Idea to buy though)

That's what I was saying also that surprisingly without earplugs,
(but with arm fully extended), I could shoot the .380 a bunch without much ear problems(no ringing/temp. deafness). Very nice report sound too!

With rifles, I've shot /hunted and I brought military type rubber plugs that fit through shirt button. But never found time to install them sometimes.
That's probably a bad idea because after one shot the second or third sound like ring-ing-ing!!! (No permanent damage though).

Actually one of the most deafening pitch firearms (I've heard) is a .22 magnum rimfire.

As for your .45 1911, "owning" the PPK...No way.
Each have seperate advantages. For example the PPK is double action, lighter, smaller/more concealeable, less recoil, and as I stated, quieter.
I'm not a big fan of the .380 but for a few reasons, the PPk design is nice. Maybe underpowered, but easily goes through a 4x4 at 7 meters though.
And does make a nice Belly gun.

Well anyway,Personally, I don't really want a handgun(PPK or 1911) around though because I find them too fun! PPK maybe more fun! :P 8)

I put together a show and boy was it great! Nothing noise wise compared to what DYI is talking about, but it was pretty loud. If I can get my video down to size I will post it.
