Question about a fitting

Unread postAuthor: Demon » Tue Jul 22, 2008 8:00 am

My question is pretty simple;

does 3/4"slip to 1/2" slip reducer exists?

Spigot, so not a socket, which means it has the same OD as that size pipe. Presumably slip is the same as socket in the US, so that isn't what you're looking for

FACK AZERTY COMPUTER BOQRDS!!!

Just put in a general search in Google.

I think when I searched, it was something along the lines of "3/4" slip 1/2" slip PVC", and went to the first page of Google Checkout.

Google is magic, man. I dunno how they do it, but Google knows everything. :P

You honestly could just go to lowes or any other store with a plumbing section and look.

If they dont have that particular piece all you haave to do is find fittings to make it.

Like off the top of my head i can think of a 1/2 adapter with threads on one side and slip on the other. Thread a 1/2 nipple into that. Then thread the nipple into a 1/2 to 3/4 inch adapter. Then a 3/4 inch nipple into that. and then thread that nipple into a 3/4 adapter with slip on one end and thread on the other.

Just a little lesson. If the particualr fitting you need doesnt exsist, you can probably make it.

http://www.plumbingsupply.com/pvc.html is a handy site to bookmark. They have a pretty extensive list of fittings.

Reducing Couplings - S x S - #429
3/4" S x 1/2" S, $0.62
These fit over pipe (are not bushings)

or

Slip Bushings - Spigot x S - #437
3/4" Spigot x 1/2" S, $0.26
(would need a 3/4" coupler)
