First time Spud Cannon

Unread postAuthor: Cygnus » Wed Apr 26, 2006 5:51 pm

I am new to the realm of Spudguns/cannons. I would like to make one in the very very near future, but would like tips and advice on an easy build for my first time, fairly inexpensive preffered. I have a general understanding on how it works, but would like some more input. Any tips?

Are you looking to build a combustion or a pneumatic?

[flame]Pipeguru, you probably should go back to second grade. If you were foreign then you would have an excuse but you are not. I hope you don't write school papers like that. If I were your teacher I'd flunk you whether it was English class or not. I don't mean to be mean but man, my 1st grader sister writes better. I'm not joking. I hope you are just being EXTREMELY lazy with your typing - which I doubt. If that's the case then shape up. If it's not the case... then shape up. Please.[/flame]

Cygnus: I'd suggest making a simple combustion launcher. You can find very detailed instructions here for one.

Thanks, and I was planning on combustion, seems to be the simplest for beginners.

Well, I spent most of the day checking out local stores looking for supplies, and the largest size PVC pipe I can find is 2". I have to check Grover's tomorrow on the hope they have larger, but other than that I am looking to be S.O.L. on parts. Any ideas on that one?

well make a simple pneumatic,a good lenght of sch40 2"pipe will do well as a chamber aswell as a barrel if you want.but 2"ballvalves are hard to open,so try a modded sprinkler they are fairly easy to mod there is a how-to on this site so that make sit even easyer.
