I pulled the wire out of electrical cables, and used it as air hose once. It didn't work amazingly well...

Which part number?
The link brings you to hundreds of valve type combinations.

A simple ball valve or sprinkler valve from your local big box home improvement store will be a whole lot cheaper!

Hey guys, I want to get a QE-04 QEV from ebay, but those damn BSP threads are difficult to work with. They are BSPT (tapered), right? Not straight threads?

I have looked for adapters to NPT at hardware stores, and Mcmaster has a few but they are like $15. Can I just use PVC at low pressures, because it's soft enough it'll conform to the slightly different shape of the BSP threads? Anywhere else to get BSP to NPT adapters in 3/8 and 1/2" for high pressure?

EDIT: Sorry, I was looking under the steel pipe on Mcmaster. Brass nipple adapters are like $5.

In my experience most are straight threads. You can force NPT into BSP and chuck in some epoxy and it will be "good enough" for low pressures.

New to combustions: what is the optical location of a spark gap? Close to the barrel or away from it?

I think I tightened one of my aluminum pipes too much, as there are only 3 visible pipe threads left. What happens when 1.5 inch aluminum pipe is over tightened or under tightened? Thanks.

Don't really know where to ask this, and this topic was pretty recently bumped, and its a short question, so...
Does anyone know if there's an RSS feed for Spudfiles? It'd be pretty cool to have a list of recent topics on the RSS reader on my desktop!

RJB invited me to his place tomorrow to fire my hybrid using hydrogen as fuel.
I have never used hydrogen before, so I have few questions:
Will hydrogen gas damage my chamber (galvanized iron)?
Is there possibility of DDT at mix 11?
Also because the large volume of hydrogen needed for my hybrid, syringe metering became difficult (I need 87ml per mix of hydrogen), manometric fueling became a better option. So anybody know the pressure per mix for hydrogen?
Thanks :)

Probably not, as you're not using high tesnile-strength steel.
Also, because of the short duration of the exposure it won't be likely to be damaged badly.

What stochiometry do you use?
You want a quite large percentage of hydrogen in the chamber, to use as a buffer gas.
