Ok thanks, to make a accurate sketch I would have to buy a few parts and take some measurements. Before I start buying parts, I was just going to try and get a general price quote in case it ended up being more than I wanted to spend. I was thinking it would probably be about 10 bucks plus material costs. Is this a fair price.

I would say 10 bucks including material costs, it really isn't that complicated to turn.

Definitely steel, perhaps brass if you thickened the 1/8" section. Aluminium will fail in such a high pressure application.

get a new boring bar. I suppose you could attach an end mill to the tool post and use that as a boring bar, but the idea is the same.

I guess you could also use a big drill and/or reamer. The boring bar will be cheaper,

Don't you think you could get the bulk of your project done with some washers and a drilled-out threaded rod?
Even if you try and totally screw it up, how much will it set you back, $5-10?

Seriously, why did I not think of that? I guess I can give it a shot.

Yep.

You'll just have to bear with me for a few days until those accursed bolts arrive and I can mount the mill and organise my work area, hopefully by next weekend.
