Masterclass challenge

Unread postAuthor: Brian the brain » Sat Aug 20, 2011 1:31 am

Hi guys...

I've started building my 6 year celebrational project to commemorate the first sawed-off shotgun that got me noticed on this site..
Finished date should be somewhere in December.

So far I think I can pull it off to make it look like it came from a shop.
No more fittings and pipe and duct tape to top it off... :D

This got me thinking...we have some members here who have shown professional work in the past..

Who's up for a challenge?
Building a cannon/airgun that looks like it was factory made?
Anything goes....

mmmmm, just what i needed.
I was interested in making a coaxial out of machined aluminium, and mounting it onto a stock.
now i actually have an excuse to machine one at school.
this will take some time...... without my teacher noticing

I am heavily obsessed with the design of my new project and nothing will likely pry me off of it until its finished and has been fired. So, I don't know if it will look like it was factory made or not but I guess i'm up for the challenge since I am making a new cannon anyway. It will more than likely look like it was made by an obsessive spud freak who works at a machine shop.

not very fair for people that doesn´t have access to machines :(
and in this case the gun won´t demonstrate the building quality of the builder, as machines did all the work

As a recent entrant in the lathe/mill world, I can tell you that there is still a lot of work to be done!

Something like this??? :) Only factory pieces are the barrel and grip assembly.

Does a beautiful building not demonstrate the abilities of an architect simply because he didn't grab a hammer and make the building himself?

This is a great idea, who cares if it's exclusive, so would a competition that only allows standard fittings though. It would be near impossible to make a fair competition that appeals to spudders all over the world with huge ranges of expertise, material, and tooling
