What to do

Unread postAuthor: noname » Thu Jul 13, 2006 11:42 pm

What do people do when you unscrew the back of a combustion because it isn't working and hit the sparker. Do you sit and watch the fitting melt or do other people actually do stuff about it?

If that happens take the gun and invert it and set it on the ground and the fire will suffocate.

Yeah, I'm going to put my hand next to something that's spraying out 6" of blue flames. I tried blowing it out but it ended up melting the threads off.

Uh... yeah? Those six inch of flames aint that hot. Just cap it off and screw it shut. Since you blew it out, you were adding more O2 to the problem, which is another reason your threads melted.

Just shoving the bottom against the ground works too.

-OR-

Switch to propane metering, and you'll never have this problem again, (outside of testing). The last time I had a launcher that didn't fire was just before I made my meter, using starter fluid, and a few times here and there tuning in new launchers and their meter pressures.
