My "barrel extension" makes alot of a difference. It takes the loud sharp noise and makes it sound like your hitting a pillow agianst a wall. I found your poll very interesting. Another thing i find very interesting is that almost all the armies in the world attach these things to the ends of their guns called silencers to make their guns quieter. Maybe its a conspiracy? . Or maybe they do make guns quieter. Not to make fun of you but that was question with a very obvious answer. You should make a "barrel extension" there cool 8) .

"barrel extensions" are worth your time to build them.

Well it appears you live in Australia, so supressors may not be illegal down there.

But please note to all, that building a supressor that can be attached to a real firearm and lower the report by 2db, it's illegal to own in the US unless you have a permit for it.

EDIT: just found this. looks like i should stay away from the cops while in possesion of a spud gun in NSW,AUSTRALIA.

Item 2(3) Any device that is designed to propel or launch a bomb, grenade, rocket or missile by any means other than by
means of an explosive, including a device known as a PVC cannon.

the URL is http://www.police.nsw.gov.au/__data/assets/file/5232/Prohibited_Weapons_General_Permit.pdf
that is only NSW though.

Wow, they actually mentioned a PVC cannon. Although you aren't launching a bomb, grenade, rocket, or missile. Still, be careful!

that would only cover combustion guns because it deals with explosives, therefore pneumatics should be fine

not if its mad out of PVC, if I were a cop I'd still bust your ass for a pneumatic cuz they can be more powerful than combustions anyways.

yeh, its the first time i've got solid proof they are illegal here. i'll be looking for as many loopholes as i can. i'll post al the aussie states regulations next.
bye!

OK, ill add the rules as i find them.

Victoria---->Legal? I could find no referance to spud guns etc in this page, detailing prohibited weapons.
http://www.justice.vic.gov.au/CA2569020010922A/OrigDoc/~AF15C6429D88D005CA256C1D0016321D?OpenDocument&1=0-Safety~&2=0-Crime+Prevention~&3=0-Information+about+Prohibited+Weapons~

New South Wales---->Illegal Requires a permit that cannot be gained without a legitemate reason for possessing the cannon.
Item 2(3) Any device that is designed to propel or launch a bomb, grenade, rocket or missile by any means other than by
means of an explosive, including a device known as a PVC cannon.

http://www.police.nsw.gov.au/__data/assets/file/5232/Prohibited_Weapons_General_Permit.pdf

Australian Capital Territory---->Legal I could find no referance to spud guns etc in this page, detailing prohibited weapons.
http://www.legislation.act.gov.au/b/db_14541/19960829-16540/pdf/db_14541.pdf

South Australia---->? I could find no referance to spud guns etc in this page, detailing prohibited weapons.
http://www.sapolice.sa.gov.au/firearms/prohib_weapon/weapon_type.shtml

Northern Territory---->Unknown I could not find any page detailing what weapond are prohibited.

Western Australia---->Illegal
F23 Can I have a spud gun?

No, as a spud gun is deemed to be a firearm within the definition of a firearm under the Firearms Act 1973 amended 1996.

http://www.police.wa.gov.au/Services/FirearmsandWeapons.asp?FrequentlyAskedQuestions#F23

Queensland---->Unknown I could not find any page detailing what weapond are prohibited.

Tasmania---->Unknown I could not find any page detailing what weapond are prohibited.

So that's all for Australia. Maybe PCGUY could put this on the legal pege? Just don't blame me if something is wrong and you get caught. :)

In the UK we're only allowed certain types of firearm and you have to have a decent reason to own one. However, I don't think that there are any restrictions on owning a silencer. I guess the government thinks that if we can't have guns, there's no point in banning silencers.

However, you need a firearms certificate to possess an air rifle with a muzzle energy of over 12 foot-pounds (16 joules I think). This probably makes my air cannon illegal :(

I believe that there was a book called Hitman by Paladin Press that had details on building a PVC silencer.

EDIT: I found the book :)
