What would you like to see in the 'How-To Database'?

Unread postAuthor: CS » Wed Nov 08, 2006 11:16 pm

Lately ive felt rather non-productive, so I thought I might work on the production of a tutorial.

Any ideas? Im all ears. I have to order in under 2 hours before my ordering window closes. [I dont think I have to expound as it has no further importance to the issue]

An automatic mechanical bbgun, not one of the clouds or vortex bbmg's. You have diagrams of these on your web site: http://tonymann22.tripod.com/id12.html
I would love to know how to make oneof these. To bad this is too late for the order though.

Just an idea, thanks Pimp.

Umm, A hypersonic cannon that shoots atomic bombs 400000 miles at 10000000000 psi? Haha, Nah seriously, how about an ultra mega complicated basket ball cannon?

)DEMON(, thanks for replying.

Yes, I really need to get back into designing and fabricating a BBMG that allows each BB to be shot individually, especially now that I’ve gotten my metal lathe working.

I’ve given thought to the concept here and there ever since. I liked how the idea using a pop-off safety valve was used to cycle threw with a constant air source. Although the chamber for a small scale BB launcher, would be much to small and such a mechanism would not have time to set and activate threw the fast cycling ROF. Basically it boils down how to create a constant alternating pulse from a constant source. Not sure how I am gonna do that. Although now I know what Im gonna be drawing up next time I get bored in class.
:-p

BTW, I decided to make a 'basic combustion' tutorial. Hope to better document then most of the tutorials I’ve seen.

Well, how I thought I would make semi-auto (eventually :P ), would be to have a constant gas source in a chamber, in this case a chamber of a metal piston valved shotgun style cannon, which would fill the chamber in a few secons. Then having an exhaust valve that opens and closes quickly, like the slider valve I am designing, the piston will be able to exhaust air into the barrel and seal again because it has a spring. Then the chamber will be filled and the cycle will repeat. I will do this one day, if I don't change my mind.

There is no way you can stop that. There are certain members on this forum which are completely useless and are gernerally post whores and assholes.
They set bad examples to the new members of this forum which leads them to think that they should act in the same way. It is like a virus.

Am i one of those post whores?

I have an idea for a fully automatic mechanical BBMG.But there is alot of explaining i might make a post about it.

This might seem kinda simple but alot of people have problems with chamber fan mountings, weather or not 2 put them in the chamber were to place them etc.Why not do a simple tutorial on that.

Being as how most spud launchers are made of PVC, how about a complete menu of what parts are available and what exactly fits what, and where to get them. A menu that can be printed out, or downloaded. I beleave that would be a very usefull menu to have. Iknow most of us allready know, but for the beginer it would be perfect. I wish i would have had all that information handy when i started mine, would have saved alot of time and money.

I think this is one of the better questions ask.

I say - "How to get rich quick!"

But being sensible, we get a lot of requests for breech-loader plans.

How about one on a threaded piston valve that is servicible with screws. Can you make those without O-rings because not alot of people have the right tools for cutting O-ring grooves.

Noted Suggestions:
-Small Caliber Launcher [Semi-Auto, Auto]
-Chamber Fan
-Breach Loader
-Accessible Piston Valve

Jrrdw, I’m not sure about your suggestion... All a constructer needs to know is that 'spigot', and 'pipes' are accepted into 'female' connections. Then there are threads, 'male', and 'female'. As to which one is which. I simply parallel it with human reproduction parts. Males extrude from there bodies, while Females accept internally. As childish, and sick as it may sound, it works. I don’t want any stupid replies on this subject matter.

Djt, the idea is good of a accessible piston, but most commonly this is simply done with a plug, O-ring, and screws. I don’t know if I can demote myself to using things besides a lathe. It makes it so much easier, nicer, and is a hell of a lot more fun. Ill have to think about that one.
:-p

RNA_Duelers, no I don’t consider you to be a post whore. Your a frequent poster, yet you do not make yourself a post whore out of it.

Now to round my post of in regards how to get on my 'good side'. First off, don’t try sucking up to me. I can spot someone trying to play up on me from a mile away, and Ill either shut you down in your tracks, or you become my b*tch *holds up leashes*.

I see the intent of this forum to converse spud related subjects. The exchange of such to be well formatted, and of a suitable level of grammar. Obviously off topic bullsh*ting bugs the hell out of me.

This is fricken' spud forum. It was created for the sole intent of discussing spud related stuff. Frankly, I don’t why most issue specific forums also include a 'off-topic' forum. Most likely just to benefit from the same mind set, and creativity resulting from the forums 'specific' focus on other issues. If you’d like to go discuss other subject matters, by all means join 'Theopia', or another specific forum if you want to discuss the issue you so badly need answered.

Now to how you post is formatted. This forum is clearly not a chat room. The slower ping times shouldn’t be taken advantage of and go around posting like a spaz and racking up a huge post count. Rather allow that time to be utilized formulating a suitable, understandable, and nice looking post. Do my posts resemble someone who gets F's in English? Hardly, cause I try to make my posts nice. Use the 'enter' key in a attempt to separate different issues of your posts into readable chunks. Also capitalize, this will help along with punctuation to determine the beginning and ends of complete thoughts. Keep your subject matter pertaining to the issue at hand.

Just in general make your post nicer for the others reading it, not yourself. Its a lot easier for you to half ass it. Solely do it out of shear respect then this all to common selfish tendencies. I think you should understand my stance on the issue by now.

How about a 'How-To' on common fitting modification. Such as:

Cutting down a slip fitting for mounting inside of a T piston valve, good sanding techniques for the same, cutting disc (my favorite) for securing an outlet pipe in T pistons and coaxials.

I'm familiar with several techniques but I'm interested in finding out more.
