History
BCARMS.com is an online retailer of Spudgun parts, kits, launchers, and supplies. It is owned jointly by Brian Buster (BC Pneumatics) and Kyle Donovan (PCGUY) of Spudfiles. The store was founded July 03, 2006 and has since received nearly 300,000 visitors. While BCARMS does sell full cannons the main emphasis is on parts and accessories, since customers are encouraged to learn about spudguns and build their own.
About the Owners
Brian Buster has been involved in spudding since 2002, and started out by posting on the Spudtech forums. He later became a moderator on Spudfiles where he is still an active member, viewing the boards on a daily basis. By 2005 he realized that in order to keep pouring money into an expensive hobby, he would have to find a way to get some back out. Brian started by selling a few items from the forums of his site dedicated to instructional videos. A partnership agreement soon formed between Brian and Kyle Donovan, and the new site BCARMS was born. The site was received well by the community of Spudfiles and soon became the premier location for spudding supplies. Brian operates the store and fills orders from his home in Fresno, California, while Kyle acts as webmaster to the site and preforms technical work for the store from Collinsville Illinois.
The BCARMS Shop
This is the BCARMS shop in California, acting as the primary headquarters where orders are built and shipped, as well as new products developed. The shop is constantly changing, and rarely looks like the same place from one month to the next. In the following photo tour I, BC Pneumatics, will get you familiar with the operations at BCARMS.
General Assembly Area
This is where the retail cannons are assembled and custom projects come to life. The workbench has seen the birth of dozens of launchers, and is the area where I spend most of my time in the shop. This is also where the recently acquired lathe resides. It is not uncommon for the far end of the workbench to be completely engulfed in shavings from turning PVC.
Sprinkler Modification Area
After business picked up at BCARMS it became obvious that I needed a place dedicated solely to modifying sprinkler valves. This bench has everything I need to mod valves, with tools in the drawers and room below for storing valves and blowguns. The maximum capacity for this bench is modifying about 25 valves in a single batch, though most times batch sizes are kept between five and 15 valves.
