I wish I knew more about Hybrids..

Anyways, I have this mylar film at work, anyone try mylar sheets.
I also have different thicknesses of acetate...

What the hell is a burst disc:)

A burst disc is a disc made of metal, plastic, etc. placed between a union on the barrel of a hybrid designed to keep the pressure of fueling in the chamber until ignition.

Honestly, if you don't even know what a burst disc is then don't even think about making a hybrid of any kind.

I actually knew the purpose, but not how it is exactly used.

Does it allow the pressure to maximize before making it's way to the barrel?
Sort of ignition in chamber, pressure build up to theoretical maximum, then a burts disc, then projectile ejection?

I understand the dangers, just not how someone can determine the burst PSI of some piece of material, that may not be consistant.

I can assure you I wouldn't even attempt to build one until I better understand it..

I enjoy my Combustion setups, simple, loud, effective, but like all things, there will be a time for bigger and better.....

BTW, how about TYVEK, that stuff is thin and somewhat strong.

PS, I know it is irrelavent, but I make high pressure snowguns for personal use, that exceed 1100 psi, and only had one 350PSI ball valve blow...
It can get pretty ugly.

Never seen PVC blow up yet.

Hey, lookie what I found: Simple T Gun Design !

Do you make yours, similiar to this? - Or are they a little more high-tech?

Mine uses a high pressure pump in unison with a TGUN setup.
Well, actually an external mix. Pressurized/atomized nucleation.
Interesting concept on both spudguns and my other hobby of snowmaking.
Everyone looking to go bigger and better, and it always means high pressure something:)
BTW, that site and that person wouldn't be you would it?

I just found this spudgun page about a week or 2 ago..
Ironically it was when I was searching for 2.5" pvc....

Had been playing around with a few designs for awhile, but never knew the scope that these guns have reached,,,,quite amazing some of the video and pics of the forum member's guns..

I thought my hairspray can gun was crazy, although much louder then my current setup, no where near the power...

I will have pics tomorrow, I just finished painting it...

Great site, and thanks....

ok, can someone just help me understand fully/confirm for me how a hybrid gun works?
do you just pressurize enough to were the plate doesn't break but to were the ignition just does the rest and releases the shot?
