Old hard drives

Post stuff here pertaining to non-spud related projects that many forum members seem to enjoy. Hovercrafts, dirt bikes, electronics, propane-powered bikes, go-karts, etc. This is more of a project area,
not a place to chat about what you saw yesterday on TV. Remember to keep it within the forum rules!

if there are some REALY large hard drives take out everything and then buy a pretty decent palm pilot and then rework the palm computer into the hard drive frame. THen you'd have a moddern computer built inside an old hard drive. It'd be kind of ironic.

if you're serious about making a foundry, read the book by dave gingery "charcoal foundry" it explained just about everything to me.

Thanks for the tip spudshot, I'll look into that.

That clock is pretty cool, if the electronics needed to make it aren't too much I may give it a try. You could keep the arm on there as the speaker and make it a clock radio [:p]

I may see if I can use the read/write arm assembly to make a mini catapult type thing.
