Hybrid Charger - Not a cannon

Just build a cannon and want to show it off? Post it in here.

I know what you are gonna say, its not a finished cannon. I decided if I wanted to make multiple hybrids why not build a universal tank that can charge them all.

It is a 2'x4" pvc chamber with the meter designed so it should dispense 4.6% propane or mapp. It also has an internal fan to cycle the gasses.

I hope to have a test cannon tomorrow night, but knowing me it will be sometime in about two weeks.

He says it's a tank to pre-measure the mix so he doesn't have to make a new system on every hybrid. I think it's a decent idea. I like how clean it turned out.

Let us know how it performs.

That thing looks unwieldy! :)

If this was just the main copper meter pipe, it would make sense to me. But what in the heck is going on with the 2 foot long section of 4 inch pipe? Is the plan to use the meter pipe to fill the 2' by 4" pipe to 4.6% ? But then what?

I pressurize the main pipe with air and propane, then with a regulator and hose I can charge any hybrid to any mix I desire.

Simple refueling, think like the fuel pods idea but taken 1 step farther. No more metering propane on every shot! Just open one ball valve and your gun fills with a prepared mix, close the ball valve and shoot! The slowest thing about it is changing your burst disk.

Biggest downside is it would be too small to work well with most larger hybrids. My main purpose was to make it easier for small guns where metering is a bit harder.

Spudinator did this with his smaller hybrids. One thing I would suggest though is that you add a burst disk so that it is essentially a hybrid without a barrel or ignition. Although unlikely, it should be built to withstand combustion of the gasses, especially since you have to be right next to it to operate it.

Sorry folks, but I remain baffled. Can anyone out there describe the fueling procedure for this thing?

Here's my best guess....assuming the hybrid chamber volume is equal to the 4" pipe on duodec's meter device. Charge the meter device to 4x. Connect a hose to the launcher, then open ball valve, yielding a 2x mix in the hybrid. Is this anywhere near correct?

he injects fuel and air into the tank for a certain mix then he hooks it up to his hybrid and the premixed gases enter the hybrid
