Don't kill yourself over info we'd like to have. We just meant it would be helpful to us when we make a choice.

Im back from my long treacherous journey into the open fields of my back yard. I shot it several times and went out in seach for mashed potatos. I didnt find a single one. i really wish i could confirm the 3/4 mile shot, but i cant. i counted 1380 somthing paces and lost count. I wondered for a hour or so and found nothing. Here are pictures.

Yeah thanks for checking. If I have any ideas for some type of projectile you can recover, I'll let you know.

In the mean time you could try the wax rounds mentioned in a topic around here somewhere.

Oh Oh I have an idea. Use the wax projectile that Spuzi mentioned ( found here: http://localhost/forums/viewtopic.php?t=15809) and put a cheap little keychain type LED with an on/off switch into it. Make sure it has a long battery life. Place it in the wax before it dries so the bolb is near the edge, but not to near. Have a night shoot and hope that the light survives the wax, the freezer, and the impact, and there you go.

Hey, that might work. I think I have a little LED somewhere. Ill try that maybe tomarrow. I'm sure it will survive the frezzer/wax, but not sure about impact. Ill let you know how it goes. One way or another I'm going to prove it. Any other idea if this fails?

I remember using night glow paint (on a steel ball-bearing) for a similar night time shoot - it can't accidentally switch off when fired, or through hitting the ground.
