Monstrous Mega Super Launcher

This is my biggest cannon. I built it to do two things. (1) I built it to be huge. And (2) i build it to hurl potatos as far as i posibly could. It has a 1.5 inch barrel that is about 16 feet long and angled at 45 degrees. the chamber is 2 inch pvc and is 6 feet long, 3 feet tall, and 11 feet wide (you will see what i mean in the picture). If you look at the picture and are wondering why there is duct tape all over the barrel, its because its the only thing i could think of to attach the 0.5 inch alluminum pipe to make it a little more ridged. it just uses a ball valve, but it is so powerfull you can only see the potato for about a second, then its out of sight. i have shot it so much that i can open the valve extremly fast. I did have my friend be a spotter and he said it went 3 feilds, which is a little under 3/4 of a mile. He was able to see it because he was about 1/3 mile out, but out of the line of fire. One thing i realized after i built it is that i cant shoot at anything because the barrel is at such a high angle. Tell me what you think. I will eventually put a piston valve on it, i just need the money first!

are you planing an attack on a nearby town??? geez man! ... nice job though and what pressure does it use to hurl a potato 3/4 of a mile?

The nearest town is 8 miles, so i need to convert it into a hybird first. Just kidding. That 3/4 of a mile shot I pumped it up to 130 psi, which is my compressors max. The normal operating pressure is 80 psi, because it takes about 2 minutes to pump up with a 15 gallon compressor with a shrader valve. At 15 psi I got a potato about 75 feet. Its alot of fun.

Edit- the tip of the barrel is about 10 feet off the ground.

Very nice build. Definitely upgrade to a piston valve when you get funds; it will improve performance drastically

Well another thing i was thinking about was 2 3/4'' QEV. That would work wouldn't it? That would be easyer than trying to redo the entire cannon, and would have about the same power. I'm glad that you all like my cannon.

I think I nominate for the mega class because 3/4 of a mile is pretty big even if it's estimated.

Usually, I would believe the 3/4 of a mile claim is total BS. However, the 16' barrel really has me thinking... I haven't seen such a barrel length used on a pneumatic before in such a small diameter. Though I still believe it might be a little exaggerated (especially because of the ball valve), an upgrade to a piston valve would definitely have a chance at achieving such numbers.
