I've been using a type of tubing called Merflex for sinks. It's plastic, but it's quite stiff. I then sleeve the tubing in some 1/2" aluminum tubing. The plastic tube comes in 2' 1/2" or 3' lengths and has an almost perfect fit for 6mm standard airsoft pellets. The ID is just over 3/16" and the OD is 3/8". It works perfectly; you just have to put an outward taper on the inside of the tubing so that the pellets don't get stuck on the lip of the barrel.

What kind of store would have plastic pipe small enough for airsoft? All of the art stores and hardware stores around me dont have any.

The plastic tubing is in the plumbing section at Home Depot. I'll have pictures soon. The barrel fits the BBs to the point where they slowly roll out of tipped upwards, but tere isn't a lot of friction either. I used to use the tubing for high power pea shooters. I'm relatively new to the world of automatic airsoft weaponry so try not to flame.:)

I just got some 1/4" copper tubing/pipe from mcmaster. I think its a pretty good fit; for any automatic weapon it has a better ROF and smaller chance of jamming. There's different sized pipe but the thickest stuff is the one that fits well. Only problem is that it is not "extraordinarly" easy job to cut.
