Modifing 1" Orbit WaterMaster automatic inline

Just starting to spud and wonder how long your barrel should be? Want to know how to build a better cannon? This is just the place! <img src="http://www.orbitonline.com/images/products/57100_203.jpg"></img> and a Rainbird were the only types of valves I could find at the local Lowes. Can I modify this one without drilling to be used with my blowgun?

In the video for modding one of these they use 1/2 threaded x hose-barb to tab into the top of the valve. Is it fine if I use a 1/4 threaded nipple and just screw my blowgun directly on to that?

Yes, that is fine. They just used the hose so that you could have a little freedom in moving it around.
