Bush admits that he has made mistakes in Iraq (FINALLY!) So now he wants to send more over? Riddle me this, if 130,000 troops can't stop the violence, how the bloody [intercourse] does he expect another 15% to fix the situation? He also claims that the U.S. will secure the borders of Iraq... He can't even seal our borders here, so why does he think we can do it in Iraq?

The President knew that the Dems would resist, knew they will manage to negate his efforts. He could have done this awhile back, instead waited until now. Did this all in defiance of the will of Congress. My opinion is this is politics at play. The Dems flex their muscle and get their way. The President gets to say he tried. The path is cleared in time for the next election. As was mentioned before, the only real way to do this is seal off the areas, go door to door and clean out the garbage. When politics dictate a war plan, it is not a plan. Everyone loses. I support the President.

Iran, for example, is expecting bribes for peace...and not getting it.

They must be denied safe haven, sleep, food, money, power and killed whenever possible.

I wish I had the time to type up a full and proper response to all of the pro-war/anti-war pro-bush/anti-bush posts that have popped up in the last few days. I am an experienced tradesman....not a talented typist (15-20 words a minute on a good day.) So here is the short version.....

1. I tend to be a fairly staunch republican. I lean a bit to the moderate side on many issues but when it comes to the lesser of 2 evils....I vote straight party republican when I go to the polls.

2. That being said....I personally approve of our 43rd president. He is not perfect by any means but the first person to find me someone that is gets a gold star for the day and a coookie to take home to your mommy for being a good boy in school today.

3. Any one that knows anything about war knows that the best laid plans all go to shit as soon as the first missle is fired. Attack plans, troop placement, troop movement, number of troops, GPS targeting, location of carrier groups, right down to where the shitters are placed on an air base all change within the first 10-15 minutes of ANY conflict.

4. Don't trust what you hear/see on TV. All the major networks care about is their ratings. Rebuild a school, hospital or a road.....who gives a rats ass. Blow some shit up and you hear about it every half hour on the half hour.....man....things have got to be bad when 48 car-bombs went off yesterday (just one BTW....replayed every half hour)

5. My wife spent a year in Iraq. The large majority of Iraqi's love the American troops. One of the things you don't see on TV is all the little Iraqi kids waving american flags huddled around the American soldiers. Tread lightly with your disdain for the war and our president. You have every right to voice your opinion under our constitutional 1st amandment....but there are alot of military members, military family members (myself being one) and military contractors (myself being one of those too) that may not be real impressed with pot-shots being taken at a cause that may not be ideal...but in the end is a just cause.

6. Some say that a democracy in Iraq is nothing more than a wet dream. Well folks...We here in the good old USA have had a democracy for 250 years. We STILL don't have it right. Tell me I'm wrong on that one!?

I'll wrap it up with that. I could keep typing for days but I have much bigger fish to fry.

Nav gives us inconsistency at it's best.

Let's see....you quote GW Bush, "It will be a war like no other." And you also say Vietnam, an occupation from 40 years ago, is not relevant. Okay. But then you talk about some pirates from roughly 200 years ago, saying that is relevant? Huh? What happened to "a war like no other"?

And what does 9-11 have to do with Iraq? GW Bush has confessed there was no connection between the two.

However, maybe now al-Qaeda is in Iraq and recruiting new members, thanks to our invasion....and that's why we have to stay in Iraq. Even though Nav is a nutjob, I agree we can't pull out of Iraq any time soon. We are stuck there, with no end in sight. A "troop surge" may help, but I honestly have no clue. I do like the idea of at least trying something different. Based on the current situation, it can't hurt to try.

Ok, now that we have troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, what is in between them countries? Thats right, Now that he have stopped saddam with his chemical weapons its time to go after Iran who is producing Nuclear weapons to destroy Israel.
Thats also why we can't leave. If we were to leave we would leave Iraq open for Iran to take and become one of the worlds top oil produces. After that Iran could go down and take Suadi Arabia and its oil. That would give them the ability to cripple oil dependent nations like us. The money Iran could make controling that oil would allow them to buy weapons and such.
In other words we can't leave. He have to finish the job in Iraq and stop Iran.
