So, I went to the store today to start buying parts for the pneumatic launcher that I am building. I am copying the design for the TBL1000X2, on the Low Powered launchers page. What I am using is a 1.5" elbow into a 1.5" - 1" threaded reducer into a 1" nipple into the sprinkler valve into another nipple into a the female reducers into the 3" chamber. After purchasing all of these, I had to go to a differant store to buy my sprinkler valves. I couldn't find rainbirds, so I setteled on 1" water masters. And to my dismay, the 1" nipple wouldn't fit into the 1" sprinkler valve. WTF! Now do I have to buy new fittings, and if so what, or can I get sprinkler valves that my 1" nipples will fit into?

are they 3/4" valves or do they just not fit? what ever you do, do not do anything to the valves you might want to return them.

The box says 1" , and 1" nipples are too big. they have already been returned.

they were NPT nipples... right? That's really weird. Maybe there's something in the threads or you aren't putting it in straight... been there done that.

NPT? it isnt the threads, the nipples are way to big.

either you didnt buy 1" nipples, or you bought 3/4" valve that was mistakenly put in a 1" box. that kinda thing happens to me all the time, but with fittings. i grab a coupler or something out of the 1.5" box, get home and its a 2" it got put in the wrong box. if its way to big like you say, then it is almost for sure the difference between 3/4" and 1" pieces. just measure the opening, if its closer to 3/4" you have a 3/4" valve, if its closer to 1", your nipples were too big.
