Hmmmm... Man this looks like a possible revolution!

Count me in if you do produce them!

Also, if I learn a 3d modeling program I might have other ideas!

I'm very interested. Making molded ammunition that I can launch is a great venture. (There's nobody in the market now so you can jump and get rolling before the competition starts). From the info that I read, you could make infinite designs and personalize each to a specific customer. As an added suggestion, you could also give options of customization such as color, lumination, etc. I'm in on it, I am very excited in seeing more designs.

P.S. you could also have a design "contest" for your first line of molds.

Everything you suggest above is possible!
I share your enthusiasm.

I also want to make it clear I have no desire to conflict with forum rules in any way.

My 3D printer is up and running today.
Here is the first model I produced:
<img src="http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j18/Navigator7/Gallups%20Concrete%20Pumping/Gallups3DP.jpg">
32 cubic inches of material
4 hours build time
Full color.
8" x 6" x 4" high

The pic does not show "infiltration" which hardens the model and brings out a rich color much like covering a stone with water.

Not very aerodynamic but it's a start [:0]

does it fit into an 8" barrel?

:D

That looks pretty dang good

Maybe now you can finally make a custom gatorade cap that will stabilize the bottle in flight?

Sweet work Nav, can't wait to see where you go with this. I'm really very excited :D

LOL....two spit wads to the back of the head.
;-)

I shoulda showed the other side. My 4x4 and trailer mounter air cannon are parked there waiting for me to finish mowing the lawn.

The lawn! What happened to the lawn? It turned all brown!

FMJ~ LOL....your keen aerodynamic observations are overwhelmed by your positive support. Thanks. ;-) It'd fit in a 10" barrel.

Rmich~I think you are right. What a memory!
;-)

Forgive me, the thought of a ballistic cottage was simply irresistable :D

Now that you´ve got the system running, might I make a design suggestion - instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, why not look to existing projectiles designed to be fired from smoothbore barrels for inspiration?

The most obvious examples that spring to mind are mortar shells:

http://files.uzitalk.com/reference/shoo ... ortar4.jpg

and of course shotgun slugs:

http://www.dokidoki.ne.jp/home2/banboo/ ... ejyun.html

With that sort of technology at your disposal you can recreate some of the more complex designs ( http://www.corbins.com/slugs.htm ) and produce them in quantity with ease [:0]
