<h2>Swoop on spud gun boy</h2>

ARMED police swooped on a residential street to arrest a boy with a spud gun.

Police were called to Winston Crescent, Biggleswade, to a report of a youngster carrying a firearm.

The force helicopter was scrambled, an armed unit was sent out, and the road closed off.

But when officers visited the 15-year-old's house, it turned out the only weapons in his possession were a potato gun and a BB gun.

He was cautioned following the incident on Wednesday night.

A spokesman for Bedfordshire police said: "The firearm turned out to be a spud gun, but the person who called the police did exactly the right thing. If you have any sort of gun at all, don't carry it in public."

Serves the kid right for walking around in public with a bb gun that probably looked real. It's a shame that he made the rest of us look bad by carrying a spudgun.

The kid did NOTHING wrong, are we supposed to fire spud guns in our homes?

Don't paint it so it looks real, if it was painted.

i agree with you other guys, he did nothing wrong.

it probably went something like
COME OUT WITH YOUR HAND UP
or
POLICE! OPEN THIS DOOR, WE HAVE A SEARCH WARRENT

and honestly, i do not see the point of having a toy gun that does not look real...

exactly, i'm usually toting a pellet gun with me when i'm walking on the back roads around here, just for plinking/snakes
