generally it isn't a state law it's a city law. good luck finding a list of all city laws. If you just need to know a few call the local police department.

Its a little more complicated than that. you have to start out with state laws ,then county laws and then the township or city laws. City and county laws can supersede state and Federal laws. EDIT I was given this site and told it was good. I didn't go to it right away and check it. Its not very good ,The one posted below is much better:D

It would be pretty cool if you could get all your state laws on a web site. I think I found something once and typed "potato gun" and found, of course, quite a few gun laws bgut to my surprise I found tons of laws about growing potatoes! How bazzar!

Yea i was kinda worried about the laws being intwined between state federal and town laws. That would be so AWESOME if there was 1 government website that had all the laws for everystate all the way down to township laws. That server would have to be a couple terrabits though :/

I think I found the best collection of state and local ordinances on the web. I'm no laywer, but this site appears to be very comprehensive:

http://www.municode.com/resources/online_codes.asp

I like how once I find my local government ordinances, I can simply search for terms such as "noise" "firearm" "potato", etc, ot find what I need.

Only three states are not included. Maybe after a few forum members in different states check it out, a mod should consider placing a link to this site in a sticky?

Sec. 54-239. Shooting slingshots; airguns.
It shall be unlawful for any person to shoot, throw, cast or project, by means of any snipy-shot, slingshot, airgun or other device, any ball, bullet or other missile or projectile in any place where any person or property is apt to be struck or in any way injured thereby.

WOuld this also include spudguns? There is a big field behind my house. Nobody or property would be apt to be struck. Maybe a loop hole in the law?
