Had some fun last night! I found this car door complete with glass on garbage day, so I thought I'd have at it. Three of us were there, each with one of my guns, but one of my friends missed so the video only has 2 hits on it. The first shot was a 8" nail at 270psi from my ball valve cannon, and the second a bolt from my sniper rifle with a electric sprinkler at 125psi.<A HREF="http://www.diskhub.com/diskhub/uploads/04-07-05/gundoor.ram"> Here's the vid. </A> The white thing in the second shot is just a sock I used as wadding.

very cool, but what kind of materials are you using to hit 270 psi? metal?

Yeah, it's galvinized steel. I use high pressure to try and compensate for the slow opening time of the ball valve. There are pics on my website, just click on my sig.

the door must be off a saturn cause the door didnt dent it just riecieved a hole[:p]. pretty cool. who shot the bolt you or you freinds just to verify who the master spudder is cause they can aim the gun.

The door does have a slight dent, but not much. Also, the paint around the impact did some weird fracturing thing that you can see in the second and third pic. I actually shot the first one that went through the window, my friend who also has some spudguns shot the bolt. The one that totally missed was a friend of a friend who had never shot before, so go easy on him;)

I can't help but notice the laser dot moving around on the door panel, where I expected the projectile to hit, and then the glass shatters. lol

Yeah, plasticex, I know. My laser pointer is aligned horizontaly but not vertically. It's just there to give me a general idea of where I'm shooting. Plus, it's a ball valve cannon so there is some inharent movement from trying to open the valve quickly.

EDIT - Has anyone else shot through car stuff before? Hoods maybe? Just wanting to know the difficulty/ease of shooting through this kind of light steel other people have. I'd love to see someone toss something big (3" maybe) and just total it in one shot:D

You can get a really nice bullet point on the bolt. Just put it in a drill press and turn the press on. Then use an angle grinder to grind down the point. Make sure not to push too hard, though. Drill bearings aren't made for side loads.
