Just a quick something for those of you left fuel-less because of the New Right Guard formula. Tried using Carb. and Valve Cleaner today (which happens to be methonal based), worked quite well with extremely small spray, about 1 second burst.

Here we were, literally "fuel-less", because of the New Right Guard formula.

I'm going to log out (right now), and run to Wal*Mart to pick up a can of Carb and Valve Cleaner.

... I've never used anything as powerful as methanol before, and hope that my SCH120 launcher will be able to withstand this revolutionary new type of fuel.

No, but really tywhite, propane has now easily overcome right guard. It is cheaper, more powerful, and comes in convienent (heavy though) bottles which provide many shots (I think someone calculated it to around $0.03 a shot?).

With this type of metering system, in the link below, does it matter which way you hold it when filling the meter? Is it best to have it upright or is it supposed to be filled upsidedown so that the liquid comes out?

tywhite: thanks for this revolutionary idea. Since right guard changed I had no idea what to use. nothing works any more.... OMFG. Propane... Axe... gas... lighter fluid... butane.. starter fluid... even hairspray... alchohol... spray paint... they are all powered by CO2 now. what is this world comming too??? aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!! Run and hide!!!!

since you asked, no, it should be held upright so that only gas is in the meter. Just like every other meter.
