It's not that hard to make a mold out of plaster. I guess that Robcsmall got him the resin, maybe some casting equipment too.

I'd just stick with modding my own valves, though. It takes about 10 minutes and some Wal-Mart epoxy to do, (for me at least).

Interesting product, though. Now we don't have to tell the new guys how to do it, you can just hustle them for money.

I foresaw that it wouldn't take a rocket scientist to 2 and 2 together, so to answer your questions;

Yes, robcsmall did make this part for me.
I can't even begin to tell you all, how many 1" sprinkler valved pneumatics I make, or have made for that matter. And these tops will save me a lot of time and hassle during the fabrication process.

Although 2 part epoxy is readily available;
You have to tape off the holes
Mix the epoxy
Fill the holes
And then <b>still</b> wait 24 hours for it to cure.

With this part, you simply take the original lid off, and install the new lid. - Simple.

BC Pneumatics IM'ed me last night, and gave me a GREAT idea;
A 1/4" NPT Male Quick Disconnect costs just about the same as any 1/4" NPT fitting... By installing one in the top, you can have a <b>single</b> blowgun (with the female QD counterpart) as your trigger.

Simply take the blowgun off when you're done with that launcher, and use it on yet another! - Simple, yet brilliant.

Yeah, I guess I don't play around with too many sprinkler valved pneumatics to bother with this. Another thing about the quick connects. To remote fire, you can hot glue or tape string to the sleeve on the female QC and then pull, to pull the fitting off.

For a mass producer, these would be great. Probably cut time off the construction. Maybe you can email Joel about them! Then he'll have time to work on more important crap.

I have personally used the quick disconnect idea, to have one blowgun for multiple launchers. The reason I did this was because I had one high-flow, expensive blowgun, and i did not want to tie it down to one launcher.

The only problem I experienced was flow restrictions. Using a female and male QD reduces flow a significant amount, and therefore I stopped using it.

But who knows? Maybe it was just my QD's

What material are the original sprinkler valve lids made from?

not 100% sure but i do know that it is glass filled. Probably nylon, the valve body is made of PVC
