Folks, I just posted a concept drawing of this popular BB Blaster. Check it out here:

I posted some data on the Strafer based on my study of pictures of it and information and pics posted here. Corrections will undoubtedly need to be made. If any of you have any data on the original, please let me know and I will update my drawing to include that information.

My hope is that this drawing will help spudders understand the Strafer a little bit better and maybe take on the challenge of building one. I have already stared collecting parts to build one myself.

Even if the Strafer was available (I understand it is out of production), I don't think I would ever pay $265 for it, but I sure could try and build one!

Note: The drawing shows the cleanout assembly with the vortex block (in orange) installed. The vortex block is held in place with screws.

I think its a little biger like the thing over the barrel with the flash light is a lot longer than 5". If you look at some of the videos of the guy holding it you will see.

The vortex sits in the bottom of the big tee at the back. The air feeds in on the right part of the bottom side and the barrel connects to the upper part of the left side. The circle portion of the vortex is situated so that the outer walls of the inlet and barrel holes are tangent to it. Hopefully that helps. The upper portion of that tee is for holding BB's.

You're right! I just measured a 2" Tee and it is 5 3/8" long! The heat shield is probably closer to 8-10". I also went to the manufacturer's site and read that the Strafer MK2 is 30" long and 11" high.

Yes Izzy, just from my estimates on velocites the barrel is 24" long.

The barrel is mcmaster number 89965K42 for only $7.43 I believe the barrel shroud is 3/4" pipe, the gun is bigger than you would think.

Hey on these things what r u guys using for reseviors? My compressor doesnt have enough pressure or flow for mine to work and i have this back pack gun i fit up to it and turned it on with 100 psi and it still didnt work. Then i got desperate and took one of my almost empty co2 tanks hooked it up and turned it on and it worked good for having no barrel. I got to get a barrel Then i will get a full co2 and try it again. I hope it works.

If it's hot you could probably use a 14oz or 16oz Propane bottle, DR posted the pressure range in temps earlier somewhere, just make sure no one's smoking when you shoot. I have a 20gallon aircompressor that keeps up pretty well and you can always get a 140PSI regulator from swampworks for a paintball CO2 bottle, or get a large welding CO2 bottle.

I think for costs I'm going to just use a 16oz propane bottle with some of those heating pads taped to it for up the pressure, I just recently found that a store here has a Mr. Heater section and has a fitting that goes to 1/4" MPT to throwaway propane bottle, no valve but for $6.99 you cant complain!
