Stripped the old BFG, fitted my homemade QEV as the main valve, and a new Normally Open trigger valve, first test shots are very impressive.

The question "what is the best tank?" as a way of examining engineering stereotypes
I found this quite interesting:
The Tank Museum's channel in general is worth looking through, a lot of illuminating material that is very well presented.

Re: I bring you some cannon performance data
Meh. Put a cut in the 1/2" long piece of pipe and wear it into the store as an ear ring.Moonbogg wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 2:07 pmjackssmirkingrevenge wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 6:05 am"Security? Yeah it's that weirdo putting limes through a pipe again..."
Yeah, that wouldn't look good.

Re: Small semi automatic hybrid project
Taking up development Freshly painted, military green and black, to start eagerly! :D A few days ago I rebuilt the piston, which is now metal. The resin he had is not a friend of the heat generated by firing often. I changed some 4mm hoses for 6mm hoses, and fires every 2 seconds, before I did every...

Re: Small semi automatic hybrid project
The credit is all yours for taking the time to understand the concept, find a way to implement it and, most important, actually do it! As you say, ideas alone don't make holes I am just happy to have been a part of this forum long enough to see the dream of the hybrid repeater become a reality.

Re: Confused. Cylinder chamber to barrel ratio for compressed air.
If you have the same air volume and the chamber is 1/3 the volume, the pressure will increase by 3x. https://www.omnicalculator.com/physics/boyles-law Interesting to note. Apllying my reasoning, punch into calculator. As cylinder reduces in volume. increases the pressure to compensate for The loss ...

New member, new toy.
Hello all, I have the 'classic' PVC spudgun (muzzle loading, cost all of $30 including igniter), and was looking for a way to pretty it up. I recently purchased a 3D printer and decided to play with a modular shoulder mount. I'll be printing over the next few weeks and can report back if anyone is i...

Re: Short question topic
Playing with the idea of a piston actuated semi automatic airsoft, there will be a spring behind the piston to return it to the home position which will allow another to drop into position, detent may be needed to stop it rolling out. Not sure what will happen to the piston as it reaches full stroke...

Re: "Offtopic-posts-topic" NSFW
Welcome back, Gunfreak. NOW BUILD SOMETHING! :D I might design a large bore soup can launching monster. I think my next cannon should have enough recoil to just about put me on my ass. It's called for. Did you forget about ME? https://vimeo.com/263675436 Oh man, this post brings back memories of my...

Re: "Offtopic-posts-topic" NSFW
You helped to forge the path into a new era of hybrid development. If it wasn't for your efforts, my new cannon that I love to death wouldn't exist. Really appreciate this comment. That was my primary goal back then, to move spudding forward, hopefully inspire people to create bigger, more powerful...

Re: Short question topic
His explanation of how it works is dead wrong, the pressure in the two chambers will always equalise. The principle at work is exactly the same as that of a QEV, the force exerted on the piston at the "bulb" end is gas pressure * piston cross sectional area, and at the strut end it's gas pressure * ...

Re: "Offtopic-posts-topic" NSFW
Daltonultra, I don't recall seeing that thing. It's an absolute monster! That thing can really chuck a can. I'm working on a new design and I was going to make it big enough to launch soup cans, but I decided to make another soda can launcher. I already have a soda can launcher though, so maybe I s...
