Dude this is a nice gun, at first I thought it was coaxal but then I saw the sprinkler valve. With the configuration you have set up you could easily convert this into a piston valved cannon.

Nice little metal gun there

I thought it was a piston and the blow gun was piloting it. But then I got to the pic of it unpainted.

Give us some specs on it. Bore, Chamber size, valve size, etc. What kind of pressures are you using and what do you use for ammo?

How hard was it to paint? I have never had good luck painting galvanized metal. Did you have to prime it first?

Looks like the metal construction could take a lot of pressure but the sprinkler valve is the limiting factor. Shame about the long hose increasing your pilot volume.

The pressure gauge is unnecessary in my opinion.

Ok pnematicrookie, welcome to Spudfiles. This looks like a really fun cannon. Something you said in your post about your first cannon and not wanting to post it kinda concerns/intriges me. You see, just about every other spudfiles member that i know of post thier first cannon and proud of it. Now don't get me wrong, we can't tell each other what to post or not, (only pcguy can, he owns spudfiles), but we/i would like to see where your building talent comes from, so, why not post it, and the second one as well? It can't be any worse then mine!

Thats a nice cannon mate, good work with the metal chamber :) What psi do you take it to and what ammo do you shoot? Any chance of some damage shots as well?

I posted my first pneumatic(ball valve) and also basic combustion, people will help you with ideas on making them better :)

Good work

thanks for the support guys lol, ill post em i little later but the chamber is 1 1/4 inches in diameter and 2 foot long, for the sprinkler valve i just used a 3/4 inch orbit watermaster thingy lol, i used a screw in value and attached it to a 1/8 to 1/2 adapter, and so on until it got to 1 1/4, um i shoot a AA baterry at 90 psi yesterday and it hit a wall roughly 40 or 50 foot away and kinda dented the batterry, but for ammo i sanded down a wooden pole and cut off 1/2 to 1 inch piece...for a few of em i epoxy puddied 3/4 screws to em, havent shoot any yet cuz i just finished the gun yesterday, but tomorrow ill get some damage pic for ya...oh am im so sorry i wrote so damn much lol

Looks great! Shouldn't have any problems with too high of pressure either. Now all you need is a metal piston valve, then you can get into the 400 psi range.

Williamfeldmann, all I do to paint steel pipe is spray on a couple of coats of Krylon Fusion, the same as PVC.

It really has a unique look to it. I like it. I wish I didn't live in the city sometimes.... Then I would be making bigger cannons. As of now I only make mini's and airsoft guns. :(.

EDIT: Lol, but my mom would let me make one like that if it shot corks lol. Its not like that would be any quieter! :D.
